Through three centuries of armed conflicts, dogs have stood side-by-side with the brave men and women of the U.S. Military. As we commemorate the sacrifice millions of Americans have made in the name of freedom this Veterans Day, we also honor our heroic military canines. At these war dog memorials, you can pay tribute to the furry warriors who gave their lives for their human brothers in arms. Note that the monuments located on active military bases only permit service animals, but each is worth a visit, with or without Fido.
