Carrier Guidelines

For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers must not exceed the dimensions of 18" x 11" x 9" (46 cm x 28 cm x 24 cm). Air France recommends that you use a flexible bag for your own comfort during the flight. The bag must be well-ventilated, big enough for Fido to stand up and turn around, but also fit in the area underneath the seat in front of you. For pets traveling as checked baggage, the size of carriers depends on your pet, but the carriers must have at least 2" (5 cm) of room above the head. Pets must be able to stand upright without touching the sides and have room to turn around. Carriers must be made of hard plastic or fiberglass, have no wheels, be able to lock in two places, and have separate food and water dishes.

Other Restrictions

Air France does not allow snub-nosed animals (such as pugs, boxers, bulldogs and Shih Tzu dogs, or Persian and Burmese cats) to travel in the hold for medical reasons. The transport of an emotional support dog must be requested at least 48 hours before departure at an Air France point of sale or a travel agency. You can find the forms you need on the website link provided. Pets must be at least 15 weeks to travel with Air France.

Air France doesn’t care about your pet

If they did, they wouldn’t sledge us with a 127% price increase from 55 to now 125€. No increase in service, and you still have to sacrifice your cabin baggage. Called them out about this outrageous price gouging and they gave no reply. If you fly with them, just know they have nothing but contempt for you

    Outrageous price increase Air France

Air France have more than doubled the price for a pet in cabin from 55 euros to 125 euros. I was disgusted when I found out at the airport the cost to bring my small dog. Won't be flying with them again

    SHOCKING new prices

Airfrance have upper their price to bring a cat as carry on in a soft bag from 50 euros per flight to a shocking 125 euros per flight!
I have flown with them many times with my cat, and it’s very sad that they have upped the price so drastically - it’s more than double!
    Not cool

    High price

So we’re friends have changed their fees for traveling with pets in cabin. To travel with your pet in cabin in continental Europe is €125 each way N into into the United States it’s another €200 each way. Last year I was able to travel with my dog for €250 from Paris to New York, I still thought it was quite high since I would normally pay €50 within Continental Europe. But now the fees have gone way up and cost around €400. You also have to think about another hundred euros to get all the certificates from the vet before traveling. I would highly recommend you to look at other airlines who have a more decent fair like AirEuropa and Lacompaingne.

    Excellent service

Have flown 3 times across the atlantic with them with my 80 lb dog in his Verikennel Giant (series 700 crate). They could not have been nicer, friendlier or more efficient in handling our needs. They don't go in cargo, but in a heated luggage compartment below the passenger deck. They have great rates too, just $200 each way. Compare that to a us transcontinental fare of 525 - 850 on US domestic carriers, and you see what a bargain that is. Good luck.
