Always happy to find a dog friendly spot while traveling, and The Sports Grille definitely was. We had our bully breed mixes with us, and the servers/staff couldn't have been more welcoming. They got a big bucket of water to share and many, many visits and hugs during our time on the patio. Our food (buffalo shrimp and a veggie pizza) were good, and the servers managed to pay attention to us between pup visits 😉

We visited for dinner after a day of traveling and hiking. We have two larger bully mix dogs who do not always get warm welcomes at places. Here our guys were hugged and fussed over by several staff and a few regular patrons. They got water, a serving of baby carrots as an app, and had a very large chicken breast grilled plain for them at a bargain price. Our food and beers were also good, but the best part of the visit was having our sweet pups be recognized as cuddly dogs and enjoying the public attention usually reserved for Goldens and lap dogs.

One warning - Ohio restaurants allow smoking on open patios, so this is where the bar patrons came out to smoke and vape. It was a surprise coming from a state with stricter no smoking rules, so be aware if you are not a local and cigarette smoke is a deal breaker.

Garten has become one of our go to places for lunch. Their menu is wonderful, with enough vegetarian choices to make me happy. Very dog friendly with a comfy shaded patio and big water bowls. If you want food for your pup as well, your server can let you know what they can make for them. Also for people, the rotating choices of desserts are always worth a trip, especially whatever specialty ice cream sandwich is on!

The food is here is wonderful. As other reviewers said, you can order a chicken breast cooked for your dog. Make sure you tell them it is for the dog, so they can cook it plain without seasonings. Also, the seating area floor is pea gravel over dirt, so if your dog is picky about surfaces, bring a towel or blanket that can get dirty.

Found the Botanic Garden while on a road trip to Pittsburgh. Super dog friendly, with treats and a water bowl, and dogs allowed all through the trails. We got over 2 miles of walking in through this beautiful property.

What an amazing idea - letting pups come along for an evening of beer, arcade games and fun! It is loud and busy, so know if your dog can handle that, but ours were happy to come along. We were on a road trip, so we can only go where the pups can go - so this was a super find!

The EVEN hotel was a great stay as far as the room, furnishings, cleanliness, etc. The shower was fantastic! Front desk staff were super nice and efficient. The dog-friendly part is a mixed bag. It was about the only downtown hotel that would allow our two big dogs, which is awesome. But the hotel only occupies the 5th and 6th floors of the building, and it is a fully urban block - so going out means an elevator to the street and then a walk to the park (Mellon Green is closest, not Mellon Square which has no ground level greenery, all raised planting boxes and paved surfaces). If you and your pup can handle a ten-minute trek from room to grass, including an elevator ride, no problem. If you have a young or old pup who can't wait, or a traffic skittish pup that can't handle a bustling traffic block-- not a good choice.

We stopped at Bean Rush with our two large dogs after walking the nearby trail around the Naval Academy Stadium (super trail, 1.25 mile loop with poo bag dispensers and trash cans!) Ordered a breakfast bagel and asked them to put the meat separate because it would be for the dogs ... And they gave us several slices of turkey! Way more than what would have been on the sandwich. So super nice of them. There is a beautiful shady front porch with tables to sit with the dogs and water bowls provided. There is enough greenery and elevation that you are separated from the street, so not sitting right on the sidewalk like lots of places - easier for the dogs to relax. Oh, and the coffee and people food are delicious also. 🙂

Our room was huge and very comfortable. Good walkable town with a couple places we could eat with our dog at outside tables. Right across the street from the ferries to Mackinac Island (also dog friendly!)

Tried to go and they said service dogs only, no pets. That was August 15, 2022

Came from Dearborn Heights, a half hour drive, on a Sunday evening in summer. Got here to find that they were so busy inside that they didn't have enough staff to serve outside, so we couldn't stay with our dog.

Great place in Eastport to relax with good beer, good food, friends and dogs. Involved in the community as well; recently hosted a fundraiser for our library system.

Dogs allowed throughout the restaurant, indoor, outdoor and at the bar! Great food and drinks, fun location on the water. It does get loud indoors with people and outdoors with boats, so be careful if your pup is noise sensitive.
