Dog friendly beach and kayak rentals!

Hampton Inn Key Largo

We stayed with our dog in December 2021 and requested a ground floor room on the south side (not the pool side) since there is a large public park right beside the property, and we could go right outside from the sliding glass doors. The north side away from the pool would also be a good choice, but there are many resident iguanas that hang around that area, so that may not be a good choice for dogs with a hunting instinct! The little beach is great and dog friendly, as are the kayak rentals on site. We found a hose in back to wash off the dog after being in the salt water. The rooms are spacious and have a little fridge and microwave, very convenient. Breakfast included, and no additional pet fee. Keep a lookout for manatees by the sea wall, and enjoy great sunset views here.

Spacious and good value - dog was happy!

Waterside Suites and Marina

Interior of suites is completely renovated – very nice new bathrooms, and kitchen with stovetop, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker and full size fridge (no oven or dishwasher). I’m not sure the mattresses were replaced since both the bed upstairs and the sofa bed downstairs were very hard and lumpy. However, it was very spacious for 3 people and our dog! The building is raised on stilts like many buildings in the Keys, but there is a ramp if you (or your dog) needs it. $50 per day pet fee a bit steep, but since the room rate is much more reasonable than other Keys properties, the total cost is still a very good value. Plenty of grassy areas and beside many neighborhood streets to walk the dog away from busy US-1. Also on a canal with snorkel and dive charter boats right there, so very convenient.
