While located in a busy strip mall, this little fast/casual joint produced wonderful food that felt more authentic than typical TexMex.
Though it was a cooler weather day when we visited, we were still comfortable on the small, private porch that was somewhat sheltered from the surrounding businesses.
There was a bit of a language barrier with our cheerful server, but we still all manage to figure out our order. đ
Our dog seemed happy enough - it would have been nice if they had offered him water. But we had our own water dish with us, so it worked out.

Easy to get to, located right off the highway. There were grassy areas with trash cans and bag dispensers for our dog, though the bag dispensers were out of bags and the trash cans were pretty overflowing.
They did serve a hot breakfast here, and our room had a refrigerator and microwave, which was good. The room itself was ok, the bed comfortable, but the bathroom floor was sticky. They seem to be understaffed, which probably accounts for some maintenance issues.
We did like the fact that this hotel was located near a few little parks where we could walk our dog and fit in early evening birding after a long day in the car.

While a bit dated, decor-wise, the room was clean, the bed comfortable, the breakfast decent, the location easy to get to, and close to a restaurant (Ziggy's) where we could easily order delicious dinner takeout- this suited us perfectly as we had been driving all day. We also liked that this was a motel, where we could park right outside our room. This made loading/ unloading the car much easier. As we arrived in a rainstorm, we didn't use the dog park, but there was still plenty of grass around for our dog's needs. He also enjoyed the dog biscuits at the front desk. A good value for the price.

Great spot for lunch and a beer just outside Colorado National Monument.
Traveling in a van, we wanted to avoid navigating downtown streets + have access to easy parking: Handlebar delivered.
Also appreciate their wonderful wait staff who accommodated our desire to watch our football team's Saturday game by suggesting we sit at the indoor/outdoor counter while the tuned the TV facing us to our game.
A perfect lunch break, aside from our team losing (still a close, exciting matchup, though). We appreciate it how the staff accommodate us.

Though the patio was pretty full when we arrived for lunch, the wait staff was good about finding a spot for us and our small dog on the shaded side of the porch. They brought him water, too.
The thin crust pizza and Caesar salad was great.
