When we arrived it was so nice to see a bunch of “pets welcome” signage. We paid for the “pet package” which came with a couple of toys, some milk bones, a collapsible bowl, a bed and two rolls of poop bags which was a cute touch. There is a good sized grassy pet relief area. Most importantly the rooms are clean and fresh and don’t have that “pet” smell some pet-friendly hotels have. I’d definitely stay here again.

We had a great time here! I believe this is one of, if not the only park with redwoods where you can bring dogs, and it’s great being able to hike through such magnificent forest. There’s plenty of parking which is great. Lots of trails of varying difficulties. It’s gorgeous and doesn’t feel overly crowded once you’re on the trails. Watch out for ticks.

Took my dog here on a weekday in January, and its was pretty quiet there. The off-leash area is big, and clearly marked. The hikes are challenging enough to make it interesting, but not too hard to make you hate yourself. On top of that, the views are awesome and there’s some interesting plant life and lots of birds. It’s a very beautiful area for sure, and easy to get to. Pack lots of water, especially on hot days.

The one downside is that there aren’t any trash cans in the park (including the parking lot) so if your dog poops on the trail you need to carry it with you out, and they do request you remove it instead of just knocking it off the trail.
