Okay, I forgot to look at Bring Fido to figure out where to eat as we drove away from Austin TX on our way to Maine. But somehow we found Nardello’s anyway?! The food was very good -we had Burstta Caprese and the Kale salad with double salmon (so Winnie could share). Yum! There was wonderful seating out of the sun, with big fans for cooling. Just delightful in every way!

Our dog Winnie loves going to Higgins Beach almost as much as we do. Before 9 am, between May 15 and Labor Day, this place is dog heaven! Dogs are allowed to run off-leash (if under voice control). Every dog and their owners are an inclusive bunch. Pay attention to the tides - the beach is expansive at low tide but very narrow at high tide.

Lovely meadow at the entrance, then the trail moves into fun shady woods with mosses and fungi growing just off the trail. Fun to cross a stream bed over stepping stones. Make sure to check all humans and dogs for ticks after your time here.

Part of Yarmouth's Royal River Park is an official shady green off-leash area for dogs with a tiny beach (with room for one picnic table) for freshwater swimming. It is a lovely place to visit, between dams on the Royal River complete with waterfalls. A gem hidden in plain sight. No trash cans but there are poop bags available.
