Shared bucket list with my best friend

No, you will not share the walk of the states or the Presidents Trail, but you will share some amazing moments on what can be an easy short or very long and vigorous hike with wildlife and a great view of the monument. We timed a visit to a very cool morning (October 10) when it was no issue to leave our guy with windows open and a nice breeze in the lower level of the garage as we took an hour to walk the Presidents Trail. I am sure the crowds and temps of the summer would be a far different and likely miserable experience with a dog, but we had a perfect three hour visit.

Dog accommodating at best. Nothing friendly here.

I hate to rain on the parade of other reviews but the rude welcome we received when requesting patio seating with our dog spoiled the whole evening. Should have just left but it was just late enough that we were committed to dinner. Food was good, but neither the staff nor other patrons wanted our dog there. If back in SC we will definitely go elsewhere.

Amazing road trip stop

We stayed at the always dog friendly Hampton Inn nearby and found this absolute gem of a dog park. Situated on a bluff right over the Missouri River there are ample trails for on leash walks and then two big fully fenced off leash areas with thick lush grass. It looked like users take great pride as there were no messes anywhere. My little guy just loved playing with the locals. Thanks for hosting us!

Still awesome!!

We joined Wag n Paddle in the winter to provide weekend play figuring we would drop it in the summer. Well a few 90 degree days and all of Gunther’s friends convinced us otherwise. It’s just not a weekend without a trip there.

If heaven was a Hampton

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Hampton Inn Marquette waterfront. Our room was spectacular, breakfast was great and there is no better spot to take a dog for a walk. The sunrises are amazing. Worth a trip to Marquette just to stay here.

Not fit for man or best friend

Pet friendly should not equal not maintained. The room and particularly the carpet was beyond filthy. So bad we refused to remove our shoes and contemplated wrapping our pups feet. After 90 minutes it was clear that there was simply no way we could sleep in such awful surroundings that we walked away from the $275 pre paid for ONE NIGHT and relocated to a lovely Hampton Inn an hour away. We do not have crazy high standards, but this place should be avoided at all cost.

First class resort

I always dismissed Mission Point as being to far from the downtown activities we love. Our new baby Günther requires us to find a pet friendly option on the island and we struck gold. Mission Point is a gorgeous resort with incredible friendly service and tremendous amenities. The coffee shop in the lobby of the Straits Lodge is a perfect option for breakfast, picnic lunch pick-up, or an evening snack. Walks on the Great Lawn and romps I’m the waves of the Straits of Mackinac are memories we will never forget. Thank you Mission Point!
