Not bad, but also not great.

Homestead Howl Dog Park

With a plethora of dog park options in the area this one is lacking in many aspects.

Pros: It is underpopulated so you feel like it’s your own private park.
There is lots of room to roam and play. There is dog agility equipment to play on.
There is separate areas for big and small dogs.
There is something for everyone with trails and fields.
There is an area you can fill up your water at.

Cons: You have to pay to get in (it’s minimal, but with so many free options you will expect more from it,).
It is hard to find, it’s part of a greater park complex and pretty hidden. You really have to look for signs, and and even then it’s not easy.
It is a hike from the parking lot, bathrooms, and you have to travel awkwardly through a giant field full of many soccer fields (which must be terrible during game season).
Until you get to the dog park finding a trash can is nearly impossible. so it’s no surprise you will come across litter (which will tempt dogs) and be prepared to carry yours the entire time you’re there.
It’s underpopulated, so finding someone to play with for your pup might not happen.
Both the field and trails offer little to no shade. so on hotter days it will be hard on your pup and yourself.

All things considered, there’s better places just as close and free. So we won’t be back.

Great Beer and Very Friendly!

Sahale Ale Works

we have been taking our pup Ozzy since he was 11 weeks old here. The staff are always happy to see him, give treats, and we are happy with their great selection of brews!
