Baxter loves it!
Barkmaster Dog ParkLarge park with lots of shade. Two sides but not designated for large or small dogs. Water was turned off for the winter but we had water in the car. Each time we travel from our home in Ft Worth to LA to visit family, we stop here to let Baxter romp!
Friendly Brewery, great beer!
Shannon Brewing CompanyWe love Shannon Brewing Company because they are a local, friendly place for people and dogs! We brought our food in and had their beer and wine. We were outdoors by the misters because it was so hot! Others with pooches were inside! Shannons is worth a try! We think you’ll like it!
Baxter is a “regular”!
K9 Pointe Dog ParkThis is the dog park we go to regularly because it’s close to home. We’re really happy with this park; water to drink, poop bags and disposal, 2 sections for big and small dogs, mainly grass and enough shade. We’ve met lots of nice people and dogs there and at the small side there are a regular group of people who meet and talk while the dogs play! We’re really glad it’s close by!
Nice but needs shade
Golden Triangle Dog ParkWe live nearby so thought we’d let Baxter try it out! Both small dog and lg dog side have lots of grassy area in which to run. poop bags and water provided. A large shady area would be a plus!
Best Dog Park in 4 states!
Freedom Dog ParkWe’ve been to Dog Parks in 4 states and Freedom is by far the best we’ve been to. Huge area I. the large dog side with a forest of trees in the middle. The small dog park is shaded by trees and has equipment for small dogs to play on including a teeter totter! it has a pool in which to cool your dog off or clean him up.
Closed at the moment
Dog Park at Rio Grande Triangle ParkWe’re traveling from LA to Ft Worth and taking our little dog, Baxter, to dog parks along the way. Found this dog park but at the moment it’s under construction and visitors can’t go in! It looks like it’s going to be nice when it’s open again. Disappointing but we went to the Kirtland dog park instead a few miles away.
Probably better in the AM
Kirtland Dog ParkThis sand/dirt dog park unfortunately was a disappointment. It looks new but has very little to offer except space. If you go take water for Fido (none provided) and at a cooler time-maybe in the morning hours. There are ledges and 2 short staircases, no agility or other equipment. Like my husband said “quite austere.” Also is rimmed with larger rough rock on the edge by the fence with tempting bushes, but hard for Baxter to walk on and got a small sticker in his foot so he was limping till I pulled it out! The park definitely needs some improvements to be dog park worthy!
Good place for Baxter to play!
Love's Travel StopWe got gas, and all the while Baxter got to run off leash and play on the nice lawn area with 3 other dogs! The station was very busy with RVs, cars and trucks, but the dog park was peaceful for him and us!
We were pleasantly surprised!
Sierra Blanca Brewing CompanySierra Blanca is truly a diamond in the rough! Lots of friendly locals, great beer (we liked the Cherry Wheat) and wine offerings with delicious food from the food truck! a great place to stop and eat (and drink) on our trip! And Baxter liked it too! Family friendly.
