The La Quinta Inn off I-20 in West Monroe, La did not disappoint. We stayed one night with our dog traveling west. The hotel, while a bit dated is clean, comfortable, and accommodating. Our bedroom was clean (2nd floor is the dog rooms). The bathroom was older but had everything we needed including Dove shower products.
There are plenty of eateries around including Cracker Barrel, Outback, Logan’s. There is a great brewing company only 7 minutes away called Flying Heart Brewing that is dog friendly and has great pizza and brews. The best part of the hotel stay is the nature trail adjacent to the La Quinta Inn. Thanks to other reviewers we opted to stay here and it was very enjoyable. Our pup loved the nice 30 minute walk through the trees and watched a few squirrels and turtles in the marsh.
It’s not a 5 star hotel, but it’s nicely located on I-20, has reasonable accommodations, free breakfast, and a place for your dog. 👍🏻

The TownePlace Suites in Monroe was very accommodating and dog friendly. $75 pet fee which is a bit high (ergo the 4 dog bone rating) but very convenient off I-20 near a mall, Olive Garden, Applebees. It included a limited breakfast. Several areas for dog walking. Gas stations nearby. Spacious rooms with microwave and fridge.

The Holiday Inn Express in DeFuniak Springs, Florida was super dog friendly with lots of grassy areas for dog walking. Good rooms but I wish the floors were vinyl plank. Breakfast at HIE never disappoints and was particularly great here and the rooms were clean and comfy. Very friendly staff.

Best Western Plus in Sweetwater is a nice place. Easy on and off I-20. Dog friendly rooms have been recently upgraded to vinyl plank flooring. Large walking area with grass. Hotel provides breakfast and our pooched like a little eggs with her breakfast. For human food there is a cute and wonderful restaurant called Bucks that has amazing food. We ordered to-go and ate in our room.
