Lovely, quiet inn close to everything!

Harbor House Inn

We had a great stay at the Harbor House Inn! They were so welcoming to our pup and even had a potty area and a dog washing station which was much needed after a day at the beach! The hotel was pretty much walking distance to everything in the town and only a short drive to the off-leash dog beach. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and a fridge, and we appreciated how quiet it was.

Lovely little place at a great location!

Marina Beach Motel

The good: There was a designated potty spot right outside the property, a nice courtyard to hang out at, bikes for rent for free, and continental breakfast in the morning. The staff at check in were very friendly and they even provided some treats and poop bags for our pup when we checked in. The location was great, walking distance to the wharf and less than a 10 minute drive from the off leash dog beach. It was also much more quiet than we expected for a motel so we were able to relax in the rooms. The rooms were modern with a comfy bed, TV and very spacious shower.

The bad: We thought it seemed clean, until we woke up with what looked like bed bug bites and found a toe nail clipping poking into us in the bed. We were only there for 2 nights so although gross, you get what you pay for.

Overall our stay was enjoyable.

Perfect place to stay for hiking with your pup!

Sedona Village Lodge

Great location with a nice grassy field to take your dog out to right next door that actually connects to a couple of trails! There’s also lots of restaurants nearby. We stayed at one of the suites because they were still very reasonably priced and it was clean and roomy. There was a fireplace and AC, perfect for the unpredictable AZ weather. They also have treats and pet blankets available at the front desk (no pets allowed on the furniture).

Perfect way to celebrate his gotcha day!

The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco

We took a trip up to SF to celebrate our Corgi Marlowe’s gotcha day and loved our stay at the Ritz! Marlowe loved the dog bed and little goodie bag of toys they provided, as well as the filet mignon they had on the dedicated doggie room service menu. All the staff were super friendly and helpful, and even recommended dog friendly things to do in the city. We also liked that this was one of the few hotels that let us leave Marlowe in the room on his own if we needed to. There’s a little courtyard area on the 2nd floor for the pups but it was mostly brick so we just took him down to the other dog area near the hotel entrance. The location was excellent: it’s in a nicer, cleaner part of the city with a couple of well kept parks nearby so we felt safe walking Marlowe even later in the night. It’s definitely a bit of a splurge, but for this special occasion it was worth it.

Perfect for a meal with your pup even in the winter!

Saucy Mama's Pizzeria

We visited Big Bear in March and to our dismay a lot of the dog friendly restaurants had closed their patios for the season. Luckily, a friend recommended Saucy Mama’s, whose heated (and covered!) patio was not only open, but was also so toasty it felt just like we were sitting inside! Food was great, and they brought out water in plastic bowls for our pup. I will note though that the patio is on the smaller side, so keep that in mind if you have a bigger dog or a dog that gets reactive if it’s too close to others.

Call ahead in the winter to see if the patio is open!

Peppercorn Grille

We visited right after some snowfall so when we made a reservation they said they couldn’t guarantee the dog friendly patio would be open because of how cold it was, but when we called the day of to make sure it warmed up enough that they were happy to accomodate us and our 4 month old corgi. The patio is heated and they even brought us blankets and a bowl of water for our pup. Food was excellent: we got the turkey avocado wrap, the sundried tomato chicken pasta and their signature clam chowder. They also had great warm coffee and kahlua drinks!

Fantastic stay!

Big Bear Frontier

Reading some of the reviews we were a bit apprehensive about staying in a BBF cabin, but it went beyond our expectations. We brought our 4 month old corgi and the queen studio cabin was roomy and comfortable for all 3 of us, with a full kitchen perfect for when we didn’t feel like dealing with the hassle of finding a dog-friendly patio in the winter. The TV was also a huge perk for when it was too cold to do anything outside. Very dog friendly, with a little park right outside and stunning views of the lake. The only thing was the temperature was kind of finnicky, with the heater being either way too warm or freezing, but we brought along a mini fan and it was fine.

Not actually dog friendly

Casey's Irish Pub

Despite the large patio that realistically could accomodate some four-legged friends, they’re not actually dog friendly
