Historical Gem with Exceptional Service

This historic inn has immaculate decor and is full of Southern comfort. The friendly hosts were there to see to our every need. The breakfast was elegant and delicious. The home sits in a charming neighborhood steps from historic downtown so walking to restaurants and shops was very convenient. We will definitely come here again.

Stay away!

I read reviews and expected it to be old and in need of update, but this place should be condemned. The foundation is crumbling, plaster is falling off the walls, shower completely full of black mold, black and rust rot on room vents with water marks surrounding them. It was so dirty I put towels down on the rug because I didn't even want my dog to lay on it. Water from sink ran brown, so couldn't put it in water bowl for dog or even brush our teeth. The wing reserved for dogs was majorly creepy. We arrived late at night after 11 hours. Too tired to search for a backup. Worst night ever.

Southern Charm and Comfort

It was like stepping back in time at this charming historic property with beautiful landscapes and timeless furnishings. Our room was steps to the outdoors making walks with our dog a breeze. We enjoyed the self-serve pantry where coffee, tea and treats were available 24x7. On-site restaurant had superb menu options and separate breakfast room was very convenient making this stay a good value.

Great location

We loved having a sliding door open to courtyard so we could step right of our room onto grass for the dog. Lots of food choices in the area.

New hotel in dog friendly area

Comfortable room with convenient grassy areas for dogs. Disappointed that the only food option closes early on Sunday, and then didn't open at the scheduled time on Monday due to lack of employees. The area along river is still under construction but will be very nice when finished.

Beautiful oceanside views

Dogs are not allowed on beach, but can walk the expansive board walk. There is no dog friendly dining on site. Late check-in was inconvenient due to all bell carts and reception in south tower and valet in north tower so we had to wait a long time for them to hunt down a luggage cart because my 80 year old mother could not make a walk from one tower to another. They should post valet at the same tower as check-in. While beach side is nice, the front street is like a ghost town with stores boarded up, giant resorts closed (bankrupt and/or under construction?). I would not likely return to this area. And sheesh, if you have dog-friendly hotel, make at least one section of massive patio eating areas dog friendly. We walked 3/4 of a mile up the street to Cast and Crew resort which gladly served us on poolside patio with look out to beach.

Bare bones, won't stay again

The hotel was just ok. It was only slightly cheaper than other options. It does have a full kitchen, but you have to pay for any dishes or utensils you might want. Big rip 6" long in the bottom of the ADA shower that water could just seep through despite a crude attempt to seal with caulking. Anytime any door near us opened or closed our door made a loud thump startling our pup. It took a while to get him to stop barking at it every time someone opened the door. No grass nearby. I won't stay at this brand again.

Charming hotel

After a long drive we were greeted by friendly staff and enjoyed unwinding to dinner and drinks on the patio while watching the sunset go down over the bridge. On a Friday night, this hotel has nightlife with live music in the basement. The hotel is anchor to the downtown row of shops and cafes. There is a fenced dog park short drive on river made a nice place to play before hitting the road again. This is a beautiful small town. Glad we chose to stay here instead of the city.

Great amenities

We were just passing through and security was a high priority. Our pet was welcomed but it does come at a high price: $100 per pet, plus parking plus resort fee added up to a bit of a higher price. But with good food, drink, and souvenirs available on site and lots of grassy areas for fido we felt it was worth it.

Charming comfort in perfect location

One block off Bourbon St. On street full of boutique art galleries with restaurants, coffee and river walk within a minutes walk. We liked how the room opened directly on the large enclosed patio. Very friendly staff made us feel right at home and letting know our puppy was welcome. Vampire bar was best location for outside cocktails. Nearby Southern Paws offered puppy souvenirs and treats. Cafe Emilia has hidden patio for dog friendly dining just a short walk from hotel.

Dog friendly

Staff was friendly and room was spacious and bright. Location is noisy because of highway and parking lot had homeless people. From our window we could see car that was broken into next door. Property did have a security guard on duty.
