Would Recommend

Overall this is a nice motel and we have stayed here twice with our golden retriever. The property is in a safe area of town and appears well maintained. The interior is well kept. It has nice basic features like vending machines, ice machine and washer and dryer. It has a decent size indoor pool and a hot tub. There’s a nice size breakfast area with a nice hot breakfast (excellent coffee) and free warm cookies in the evening.

Staff is friendly, efficient and helpful when needed. And most importantly, the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable! The king room has plenty of space and is well set up with a comfortable chair and ottoman, a desk area for work, a nice size flat screen tv, microwave and frig. Nothing too fancy but all in good shape and totally functional.

I only have one complaint, and that’s the area for your dogs to relieve themselves is just a dirt and gravel area at the end of the parking lot. That would be fine it it was maintained at all. But there are dog feces, trash and even broken glass here. I do wish if motels are going to accept dogs they’d actively provide a decent place for them. Yes, people should pick up after their dogs, but really, $25 a night should pay for a little pooper scooper action and some clean up.

Well Worth a trip Just to Visit

If you’re near Mancos visiting Mesa Verde, camping at Mancos State Park or just driving to or from Durango, you will enjoy a stop at Fenceline with your pooch. This is a very dog friendly atmosphere with umbrella tables and stools looking over the Mancos River. The cider is excellent and I highly recommend a slushy for a summer treat! They open at 2 pm and the food truck has some good stuff. I believe they have a breakfast too but just a carry out from the food truck. They also sell locally produced healthy dog treats! Great atmosphere and exceptionally friendly to humans and dogs!

Great View and Sandwich

Falls Park is a must visit spot. Such a great public space and a really nice story of restoration as well! The Overlook Cafe on the site is dog friendly with outdoor tables overlooking the Falls. It was raining lightly and we actually sat just inside at the first tables without an issue. The pulled pork sandwich and homemade potato chips were great! The chili, not so much. It was a great place to enjoy a dog friendly lunch and a local must see! Highly recommend the park and cafe.

Great Chislic and Dog Friendly!

The Attic has a nice patio area perfect for Fido. We were specifically looking for a place that serves Chislic (a local speciality) and we scored on the best rated Chislic in town with a dog friendly area as a bonus! Service was great and I also had a great dirty vodka martini. We added a side salad to our Chislic and that was really very good . We were happy with the food, service and price. Check them out if you’re up this way, you’ll be happy!

Great if stairs are ok with you

I am struggling with how to rate this motel. It has plenty of food options nearby and is really close to a Walmart if you need something. The area for “exercising“ your dog is just a parking median that’s been filled with gravel and had a bench and a bag dispenser added. It’s adequate, but just that. We took our pooch over to the civic center park for some actual exercise. It is a two story hotel and does not have an elevator, so ask for a downstairs room if that is an issue for you or your dog. On the positive side, the staff is very nice and the rooms are CLEAN. The room was good size, well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. We had no issue with noise. There was a pool but we didn’t use it. The WiFi actually worked consistently, so that’s a plus. And the breakfast was very good with good options. So if the lack of an elevator is not an issue, and you are going to actually exercise your dog somewhere else, then don’t hesitate to book this spot.

A good stay

This is a great hotel that is pet friendly and reasonably priced, in my opinion. The hotel is well maintained, has some nice amenities, and the rooms were in good shape and CLEAN. The bed was comfortable and the room was a decent size. We always run the fan in the room on low and we had no problem with noise despite some rowdy kids on the floor. After several different motels on our stay, I can say the breakfast was good! There is adequate room to walk your dog for their needs, and there are some great parks in Sioux Falls for a real walk. I would recommend this location for both you and your dog.

Nice stop for a night or week!

Pet-friendly hotels, particularly those taking large dogs, can be a bit of a crapshoot. This one is definitely a winner. The building is in good shape, well maintained and there are grass areas for your dog’s needs. Our king room was nice size, had a seating area with sofa, everything was in good condition and CLEAN. The bed was very comfortable. I loved having our car right outside the door. Breakfast was very good and had nice options. Really, you’d be very comfortable on a multiple night stay here. I’d definitely recommend it.

Tired property

Tired. That is the best description I have of this motel. The room was good size, the bed was very comfortable and it was clean. There’s a really large area to walk your dog and I like having my car right outside my door. Breakfast was good. We had no issue with noise, but we also run the fan on low all night so that helps. But, it was worn. Worn edges on the furniture, the inside of the door really needed some paint mostly just things like that. Same for the vending machine/ice area and the exterior overall. It’s like they have a great cleaning crew but no handyman. For us, spending just one night and having a large dog, it wasn’t a bad choice but I would probably route differently rather than stay here again. Depending on your priorities it may be an ok choice for a night along your way.

You Get What You Pay For

So what do you expect from a budget motel? You know it’s not going to have a lot of amenities or extras and will be a basic room. That’s acceptable for a budget friendly place to stay, I believe. When looking for places that will accept large dogs these are often the choices available. The location is good, it has plenty of places to eat nearby and is right next door to a Fleet Farm and a Target. The room has new furniture in good shape, the bed was comfortable and the room was CLEAN. Had a small refrigerator and microwave. And there’s grassy areas to walk your dog.

But It was supposed to have a laundry room and an indoor pool, neither of which were working. Now to be fair, they are upgrading things. New carpet was recently put down and the pool had just been resurfaced, and was indeed refilled during our stay. What bothered me was the laundry room. For a 3 story hotel, a single washer and dryer in the hall seems pretty lame. Particularly when you find out it’s been out of service for some time and there’s no timeline to repair it. Now for me, that’s a big deal.

This was our destination spot, so we spent several nights and one of our requirements was the ability to do laundry. Touring the local laundromat was not the highlight of my trip. Breakfast was provided but was pretty limited and few healthy options. Again, budget. We met quite a few folks on fairly long stays. Guys working in the area that need accommodations for example. The walls may be thin but it was quiet after 10 pm every night. No issues with noise. So if you need a clean, basic place that accepts large dogs, it is not a bad choice. Just a no frills, basic one.
