We went to dinner at Riptides thinking it would be a great place only to be very disappointed. We had to ask the hostess for water for our furbaby. Our waiter did not show interest in our dog at all. I asked for ice to put in the bowl but never got it.
We ordered fried green tomatoes for our appetizer and it was very good

I ordered fried grouper that came with cold fries and cole slaw which was like plain cabbage. I ate half of the meal.

My husband ordered steak tips that came with a baked potato. The tips were so tough he could hardly eat them.

Our waiter was horrible. I had to yell out to get his attention to bring me a refill on my iced tea. He was very rude and brought hot tea to me with very little ice and pretty much threw it at me at the table.

He then came with the $100 bill and slapped it on the table and walked away. He was extremely rude the entire time.

We will not go back to this restaurant.

We took our dog Rudi Roo with us to the Nights of Lights in Saint Augustine and it was wonderful. Everyone was so friendly to him. There were a lot of dogs there. We rode on the Little Red Train out of Ripleys Believe It or Not. I loved that Rudi Roo was allowed to ride on the train to see the lights. We had a wonderful time.

We had a wonderful time at the Southern Oaks Inn! This is a great place if you have a dog! They have a very nice fenced in area to take your dog off the leash. They also have a large grassy area to walk your dog!
In our room was a big dog bed as well as a food and water bowl. We had brought our own for our Rudi Roo so we did not need to use the ones in the room.

The room was nice and clean and spacious. Bed was very comfortable.

And oh my gosh the complimentary breakfast is the absolute best! The food was delicious!

We will definitely go back!

We are vacationing in Saint Augustine, FL with our Cavalier King Charles, Rudi Roo.

We only go to restaurants that say they are “Pet Friendly”. I looked through Bring Fido and then double checked the website for Harry’s, which both said they were Pet Friendly.

After we were seated at the restaurant, the waiter came for our order. My husband and I made our selection and then I asked him for a plain chicken breast for our Rudi Roo. He told me that he was not allowed to let us order food for our dog but he could bring a bowl of water. We were Shocked!! He said I can put in an order for the chicken breast but don’t let any of the waiters see you feeding it to your dog.

Now mind you, our meals came to $80 but we were to not give our sweet Rudi Roo any.

Soooo….. some woman served our meals to us, not the waiter. As she placed my husbands plate down with his steak and the chicken breast, she said, “that’s the strangest combination I’ve ever seen”. If you’re planning to give your dog that chicken breast, we do not allow the feeding of any pets here”. She looked down at our sweet Cavalier King Charles and said, “you will need to take the chicken with you so I will bring you a to-go box!”. What in the world!!! We did not even say we were going to feed it to our dog and she was ready to box it up!!!

We travel a lot and have taken our Rudi Roo to the very best of the best restaurants that are dog friendly and never ever have we encountered this.

I will never go back to this restaurant.
