Great but a bit too pricey

This motel has 2 floors and 2 separate buildings- the largest with all the rooms opening to the outside. There is an included full breakfast with sausage, bacon, eggs, toast etc that was average. Rooms were updated, clean, comfortable and quiet. Some noise from Hwy 1 was audible but not enough to be disturbing. They were welcoming to our dog, provided a small care package for him and have a good green space nearby for doggy duty. We did not use the pool, but it looked clean and inviting. We would definitely stay here again. They lose one bone due to the price being a little high for the overall quality of the site.

Not worth the cost

This motel should have been $60-$70 for the night. Beyond dated. Beyond needing minor repairs. Dirty bedding, cigarette burns in the sheets. Spiders in every corner. Carpet so unclean I washed off my shoes before I got in my car to leave. Dogs are banned from the primary central courtyard- which is really the only green space. There is some grass out front by the highway if your dog will do his business with traffic flying by at 100kph, 10 feet away. The highway is only 30 feet from all the motel doors, so traffic noise was high. No night attendant so you have to try and call someone at a separate residence if you need help after hours (such as when our toilet failed to flush at 2am). This is one of the top 3 worst motels I have ever stayed in.

Refused access and parking hassle

Despite allowing dogs on the patio (supposedly) the staff here would not allow us to use the patio. We arrived and went through the gigantic hassle of figuring out how to pay for parking when the parking terminal was broken, only for the door greeter to tell us we cannot sit outside. It was 23 degrees out and sunny. At least 4 front staff on shift that we saw. Unhelpful and unapologetic for our inconvenience. We won’t ever return.

Recently updated rooms

Room was clean and comfortable. Signs of the motel's age are apparent but many recent updates have made the motel comfortable and worth the money. The abnormally high pet fee cost them a “bone."

Very clean

We found our room modern and clean. We did experience some noise from the pool as our room was right beside it (they seem to place most of the pets in this area surrounding the pool). There were at least a dozen other dogs staying at the motel while we were there and most people we talked to were enjoying their stay. The pet fee was average. We would certainly stay here again.

Affordable but dated and noisy

The owners of this motel are lovely and friendly. We were greeted warmly and made to feel important. The motel is very dated and desperately in need of some updates. The room was very dirty, with large cobwebs on the ceiling near the air conditioning unit and a wipe of the bed headboards revealed a thick layer of accumulated dirt and dust. We didn’t use the outdoor pool but a quick glance did not make it seem inviting with deep brown stains and greenish water. We were glad it wasn’t hot outside while we stayed because the air conditioner made a loud buzzing sound that would have made it impossible to sleep.

On the positive side, the pet fee was reasonable and they have some convenient green spaces for “watering” your pet. The bed was very firm (which we prefer) thus we found it quite comfortable. We hardly slept the one night we stayed due to the person above us walking around their room for hours on end. They weren’t being abnormally loud, but the floor creaks and squeaks with every step from the room above. There must be absolutely no insulation between the levels. I would not stay here again. It’s worth the extra $50-$75 to stay elsewhere and get a decent sleep.

Fenced and grass-covered

We stopped here with our Beagle while passing through Kamloops. There is a separate small dog area which can be accessed without entering the large dog area. Both small/large areas are fully fenced and grassy. 2 seasonal water taps are available. Parking is somewhat unclear and located on the street below with a paved pathway up to the park. Access may prove challenging for those with disabilities as the path is inclined.

Wonderful staff and easy parking

We found our way here after being rejected from the pig-pub a block away. They were friendly and accepting of our Beagle on their patio. Parking was convenient and simple in their own lot- a $1 parking stub was purchased in the lot and refunded by the server. The selection of beer was excellent and we all enjoyed our meals VERY much. I highly recommend the fish tacos!
