I wanted to like this place
Americas Best Value Inn Garden CityCheck-in was friendly. Room was what should be expected for budget hotel. Breakfast was meager. Grounds were terrible -- there was pet feces everywhere. Could not even walk from car to room (about 15 feet) without dodging excrement. Pet walking are is basically dirt and crap. Fortunately, someone had smashed the fence between the property and the grass area bordering the sidewalk/road. It was cleanest area around.
Very nice hidden dog area.
La Quinta by Wyndham JoplinVery nice place. Nice room. Very clean. Very comfortable. At first I was concerned about the apparent meager dog area, but then I discovered the hidden courtyard. Lush grass, seating area with comfortable chairs and fire pits. Best dog area I’ve seen. When we checked in the woman at the front desk told me we would like the breakfast. She wasn’t just whistling in the wind! Best breakfast of the trip. Fresh cooked eggs (not that spongy stuff) lots of variety. Build your own burrito, biscuits and gravy, waffles, sausage (links and patties). I would definitely stay here again.
A very good place to stay.
Baymont by Wyndham Florence/Muscle ShoalsWonderful people. Truly dog friendly. Nice area for dog. Good location. Clean, comfortable room. Nice breakfast.
Nice place to rest
Clarion Pointe Franklin - Nashville AreaVery nice room. Very clean. Nice quiet, safe location. OK breakfast. Nice area for dog relieving.
Budget location
Americas Best Value Inn KosciuskoVery basic. Room was clean. Breakfast was non-existent unless you call Tang orange juice and you enjoy vending machine muffins. Very small town. We stayed while driving the Natchez Trace Parkway from end to end. I suggest a different town with better options.
Most excellent
Holiday Inn Express Breaux Bridge an IHG HotelI wish we could have spent more time here. The people were very nice. Good area for relieving the dog. Very clean and comfortable. Good breakfast.
Worse than you can imagine
Wyndham Garden TexarkanaThis place has nothing to enjoy. Out of the two elevators, only one works - barely. The elevator is slow, unreliable, and has broken buttons for selecting your floor. The room was not clean and had a faint off-putting odor. The furniture was broken and very worn. The place is so bad that it made us leery of staying at other Wyndhams. Sadly we were there for two nights (nowhere else available due to the eclipse). We rejoiced when we left. The only good aspect, it is very close to a beautiful park and dog park. I wish I could give it less than one bone.
Surprisingly Good
Red Carpet InnThis is a budget motel. It should be viewed that way. The room was clean and comfortable. The people, while not warm and embracing, were also not surly. They were courteous. The breakfast was adequate. It worked rather well for our overnight stay. It was definitely better than some of the reviews.
Nice location
Star Inn BiloxiThe location is nice, but the motel is very worn. The bedspread in our room had several cigarette burns on it. Not super clean. There are some grass areas for the dog. People are pretty friendly. Pet charge is very reasonable.
Very nice place
La Quinta by Wyndham Fort SmithRoom was nice, clean and comfortable. Good pet policy. Was able to leave our 40 lb designer mutt kenneled in our room while we went to dinner. Nice field next to hotel for Fido, but not fenced. Breakfast is basic hotel fare.
Did the job
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Wichita East KSWe were just passing through. Hotel is a little dated, but clean and pleasant. Staff were very friendly. Open field with tall grass next to hotel serves Fido’s needs. But tall grass adds a bit of a safari vibe for picking up after the dog. This is not the fault of the hotel. I’m sure they don’t control the field. Location is pretty convenient.
