If you are looking for a shaded trail 0.5 miles each way (1 mile total) for your pup, try Trail Tramper’s Delight. It starts and ends at Eagle Bluff lighthouse.

Note: Dogs aren’t allowed on the Eagle Tower ramp so try to make pup arrangements/go in shifts so that you can check it out while you are there as it is worthwhile.

We had delicious ham and cheese sandwiches for lunch on the patio with our dog while enjoying the view. While you are there, stop by the nearby Fish Creek Scenic Boat Tours. We were able to get last-minute tickets to their next tour. Bayside Coffee doesn’t have bathrooms of their own but there are nice community bathrooms nearby for their customers.

Clean, comfortable rooms. Great location. Pets allowed in first floor rooms. Noticeable that the owner/manager takes great care of the motel. Dining space available to use; however, no continental breakfast. Box fans in the closet to use to provide background noise so that your pet is less likely to bark/stir with noise. Awesome vintage 50’s decor.

Beautiful shaded trail walking along the water. Lots of tree roots/rocks so works well if owners/dogs can walk on uneven surfaces.

Sat outside and listened to live music while eating a cherry donut.😀

Large area to run; separate spaces for small and large dogs; agility equipment.

Traveling through on vacation. Great place to get your dog’s energy out.

We did the Giant City Trail (one hour), Devils Standtable (15 min), Post Oak Trail (15 min). Great bathrooms, tour guide and gift shop at Visitor’s Center (no dogs inside). We had kids ages 9 and 11 and one medium-sized dog. We are novice hikers. Lots of other trail options, depending on ability.
