Very Small
FastLane Pup ParkThe idea of a dog off leash pit stop off the highway is a great one but we were very disappointed. The space was no larger than a patch of grass at a road stop. We chose to keep our dog on a lead and walk the grassy area around it. The turf inside the fence was dirty with poop. I’m sure it just can’t wash and drain from the rain as well as natural grass. We have a large dog. This area would probably much more acceptable for little dogs.
Big DP
Tupelo Bark ParkNice large dog park. We were traveling through and stopped. The back half is filled with a great amount of tree shade. However, there is no grass back there so I can imagine it would be pretty muddy after a good rain. No shade in the grassy area. We were only on the large dog side and didn’t pay attention to the small dog side.
Lots of space
Will May Dog Park at Sokol Park SouthBeautiful dog park with a lot of space for dogs to run and sniff. Unfortunately there is a lot of poop left behind; it’s just rude and a shame for such a beautiful DP.
Lucille’s Marketplace
Miss Lucille's CafeWe didn’t go to the cafe but we did walk all around the indoor marketplace. It was great! Great “Pup” shop at the back. Coffee shop at the front.
So clean!
Stuart Nelson Dog ParkWe stopped on our way to Tennessee from KC. So very nice how everyone does a good job cleaning up after their dog; no poop piles! Big trees for shade and water for the dogs.
Pros and Cons
Dog Park at Heritage Park ComplexWe visited while passing through. Pros: Nice large space to run. Obstacle course items and trees which gave our dog plenty to sniff and investigate. Cons: Not well maintained. Lots of muddy spots making it unenjoyable to walk around with our dog. Caution… there is a lot of poison ivy growing up the side fence. This DP has so much potential if it were maintained properly.
Closed but would come back
Quail Ridge Dog ParkIt was closed at 1:00 on a Friday; however, it was raining and that is the only reason I can think of as to why it would be closed. It looked like a really nice place. We simply let our girl out leash free and walked around the fenced area so she could stretch her legs. It was a really nice area to walk around. Mowed and well kept.
Huge Dog Park
Heritage Park Dog Off-Leash AreaGreat location for getting a good walk while letting your dog run free. We take our two big dogs every week. They run around yet stay near us as we make our way around the long (mostly gravel) path. There is some paved paths but none that makes a complete loop. There is a pond for swimming or cooling off. Water for the dogs is turned off during the winter.
