This is the second dog park we visited (just came from the Marina dog park) and I didn’t think it could get worse than that park, and at least that park had the marina and some views. This dog park is tiny, no wonder there are no dogs, and because it’s under trees, the mosquitos are wild. We’re talking hoards of mosquitos. And yes I have on bug spray. Super disappointing. We drove out of the way just to come in hopes to see and play with other dogs but this place looks like it’s been abandoned. They did have poop bags unlike Marina dog park, but skip this if you wanted your dog to play. Not at all worth the bug bites. We were in and out and I have bug bites all over.
Amazing beach for me and my dog to walk on. The sand is firm and the beach is long. We got to see a few sea turtle hatchlings so I would say just be sure your dog is on leash and controlled if they will go after small animals. Was amazing to see, and loved watching the sunset.

Despite spraying myself and my dog down, the mosquitos were relentless. I was bitten multiple times and we ended up leaving early. The park looked great from online photos but it was actually so tiny, and we were the only visitors which wasn’t very fun for my dog who loves to meet and play with other dogs. I ended up just walking her down the marina which is nice but smells, and is also pretty short. The area is really pretty, and you’ll get used to the smell, but the mosquitos are something else.

I brought dog shoes as I read from another reviewer her dog’s feet were torn up and I can see how it may depend. Thankfully my dogs paws ended up okay, but I’m glad I brought shoes in case. This is a really short visit, we were only there for photos really, but so cool to see in person. I recommend heading to the other beach on Jekyll island and walking your dog there instead. This place is pet friendly and I’m glad, and super recommend seeing, but it’s more of a viewing spot than a my dog can really exercise and enjoy spot. We were careful walking around.

The woman was so nice and gave my dog some water. The patio is just a few small tables in front of the restaurant. It’s like a mom and pops and one of the few Asian restaurants I could find in the area that was definitely pet friendly. I got pho and while it wasn’t a traditional style I’m used to, was great.
