I bet this trail gets a bit overgrown in warmer months. Steep going down into the canyon, but worth it to see Burden Falls up close. Some rocky terrain getting up close to the waterfall. You can see the upper falls from the parking lot. My dog loved this hike
We visited in spring after heavy rainfall. Be prepared to walk through mud and water but it’s totally worth it to see the waterfalls! Lots of easy trails with options for more moderate hikes.

Good sized room and it was clean up on arrival. I liked the large grassy area out front for potty breaks. Location is great off the highway and lots of restaurants nearby.
11 dollar cash entrance fee. Went early in the morning and it was very peaceful. We hiked the Presque Isle River Waterfalls trail and used all trails for guidance. Very beautiful waterfalls! Well maintained trail until just after the second waterfall. You can see the third waterfall from a distance, but we don’t continue on the trail because it looked narrow and overgrown.

I took my dog for a swim during winter and she had a blast. Very nice facility and pool.

Wide and maintained trails. Very peaceful when I visited in late February. The pine trees make it a scenic hike. Trails are relatively flat.
Beautiful in winter with the snow covered pines. Very peaceful and I will return in spring

Plenty of mowed trails to enjoy. The loop trail around the lake is over 5 miles long. There’s plenty of secondary trails leading off from the main loop to explore. Very peaceful visit in late February. Can’t wait to come back in summer for boat rentals and the restaurant. I heard the boat rentals are dog friendly and there’s a little patio outside dogs are allowed at.

I loved Pioneer Pass trail, it was mainly a dirt trail with creek crossings, but it does have some paved areas. In early February, I only saw three other people on the trails. Pioneer pass trail took us along the creek and then up to the bluff top and through the woods, then back down to the creek. Wear proper shoes for a little rocky terrain and a creek crossing. My dog loved it!

The park is very big and has great views. Visited during the winter and wasn’t too crowded.

We were able to walk around and see pretty much everything in a day. Pet friendly for sure. There is an outdoor patio open seasonally (limited hours). I went inside to order while my sister stayed outside to wait with the dog. Not too many people out and about.

Wide trails and relatively quiet in November. We walked around Loon Lake and along the Fox River. Beautiful park. I saw three other dogs out and about on the trails

I visited with my dog in November and loved the quiet trails. We parked at the statue and took the stairs down by the river. We used the stairs to get up and down instead of the trails because they looked really rugged. Beautiful park.
Hiked up to the lookout point but my dog didn’t like the steel grated stairs. She went up them but I know my other two dogs wouldn’t have used those stairs. We went down near the boat ramp to so dip her toe beans in the water

Good food and we loved the patio. Tables are umbrella shaded and we had enough room.

A great visit in every season. Summer brings crowds especially on weekends. Parking lots will close due to capacity. Highly recommend coming early or in other seasons. Be prepared for muddy trails and for feet to get wet when visiting in spring and after heavy rainfall. I love hiking her with my pups.

Stopped for lunch on a weekday in September. Not busy at all, we were the only ones on the patio. Staff was very welcoming to my dog. Amazing food and we love a dog menu! Perfect after a hike at Starved Rock.

Staff is always very kind to my dogs. Free pig ear up front if you bring your dog in to shop with you.

We hiked all the trails and they were all easy/great. Went on a Saturday morning in early October and it was not crowded at all. Just a few others on the trails. There is a nearby shooting range so the noise from that was constant. Not loud enough where it bothered my dog. Plenty of dog-friendly dining nearby in Utica and Ottawa.
