We were coming back from Key West and wanted to stop to enjoy a nice pool before getting to Miami. I found The Islander to be a great choice. We decided to book it and stop by—BEST DECISION EVER!
The place is even better than the pictures, but the service… OMG…THE BEST! From Angela and Jasseline at the front desk to Jackie and her colleague at the pool, everyone made us feel like we were in heaven. Perfect attention to detail, warm, and genuinely happy to help with everything you need—without being over the top.
Both pools were amazing, one for families and one adults-only. They are obviously pet friendly, and the dogs can be even at the pool area. Also, the food and drinks were awesome. I didn’t take any pictures because we dedicated ourselves to simply enjoying the experience. 10/10 — I honestly couldn’t recommend it more!

This is an amazing spot in the Keys! The place is fantastic—excellent rooms (we booked an Ocean View room and were lucky enough to get an upgrade!), spacious living room, great bed and pillows, and a large bathroom with plenty of space for our Golden Retriever. Dogs are welcome everywhere on the property except inside the small dining room for breakfast, but there are outdoor tables, so it worked perfectly for us. They are not allowed inside the pool (fenced).
The stay includes 30 minutes of kayaking, and we took our dog along in the small natural bay (the winds made it safer to stay within the bay). Dogs can also stay on the small beach; ours was off-leash since he’s well-behaved and there were only a few people around. There’s even a designated potty area for dogs in the parking lot.
The best part was definitely the people—everyone was extremely kind and welcoming. Our room was spotless, and there are plenty of nearby restaurants. Dogs are accepted almost everywhere, though usually only on patios or terraces, not in main dining rooms, which is perfect if weather is nice. We loved the hotel, and will definitely come back and spread the word! We had a blast and our dog even better!

Great food, but the best part is how they treat the dogs. They have their own menu, and it’s free! Our waiter explained that the owners love dogs, which is why they offer such special service. The food for humans is also fantastic, and the service is outstanding. We’ll definitely ‘come-pack’ and ‘spread the paw-rd.
