Not bad

Were I to rate this against the grand scheme of hotels, it would be more of a 2, but for the price and being dog friendly, it was definitely quite acceptable. I wouldn't have a problem with staying again, but would typically prefer something a bit nicer. Pros: Well kept, clean and tidy. Friendly service. Bedding was clean and there were plenty of decent pillows. Decent areas for walking dogs. Cheap price. Cons: Carpet is not preferable in a pet-friendly hotel (or really any hotel) as it holds dirt and feels dirtier. Bed was uncomfortably firm. TV remote was gross (but everything else seemed clean).

Great hotel chain for pet owners

So far, of all the pet-friendly hotel chains La Quinta has been my favorite. Of the maybe 4 I have stayed in, they have all been clean and comfortable with pretty comfortable beds and pillows, nice bathrooms and good service.

Great place to stay!

I would probably go with 4.5 as this wasn't perfect, but since it definitely deserved more than 4, I rounded up. I would stay again. Pros: Very clean, super excellent and friendly service, grassy areas for pets, good bedding and pillows that felt fresh and clean, nice bathroom with a large counter. Cons: Bad breakfast, damage on the wall and counter with subpar repair job, carpet floors (but clean), bed was too firm for me.

Acceptable but not great

OK. Pros: Decently clean room, good price, comfortable pillows and bedding, pet-friendly. Cons: Horrible breakfast (tasted like it was cooked 2 days ago and I had to throw it away), firm bed, no great place to walk or let your pet relieve itself.

Absolutely exceptional!

Having a giant breed dog leaves me pretty limited in hotel choices, so it is rare to find anything particularly decent, clean or comfortable, but this hotel was absolutely wonderful. It was wonderfully clean, quite comfortable, had plenty of space for dogs to walk and relieve themselves, and nice accessibility with exterior doors, so it's easy to take pets in and out. This was one of the best pet-friendly hotels I have ever stayed at.

Borderline acceptable

I probably wouldn't stay here again unless there were no better options. It was not particularly clean. There were stains on the sheets. The chair was stained and torn. I did not feel comfortable taking my shoes off or walking without slippers on. Everything could use some updating. The bed was not comfortable. My teenage daughter actually refused to use the shower and asked to sleep in the car, to which I told her absolutely not because the other problem with this hotel is that there appears to be some long-term residents and, despite arriving after midnight, there were multiple cars running in the parking lot, playing music and people smoking or doing drugs. It was very sketchy. When my daughter went out to make a phone call, I had her take our wolfhound for protection. The staff was friendly. Not the worst hotel I have ever been in, but far, far, far from the best.

Exceptional hotel!

Very comfortable beds and bedding. Very clean. Plenty of grass for dogs. I wish I could bring this hotel with me for the rest of my road trip because nice hotels like this that allow big dogs are hard to come by.

Exceptional!

This hotel was a breath of fresh air. Having giant breed dogs means your hotel selection is tiny. After staying in so many outright nasty to borderline acceptable hotels on our road trips, this was absolutely lovely! The bed was the most comfortable bed yet and the bedding was clean and cozy. The room was clean. It had all the amenities needed. I loved it. The room had carpet, which I usually hate to have in pet friendly hotels because it is typically nasty and I refuse to take my shoes off, but this carpet was clean and quite exceptional. There was plenty of grass around for the dogs.

Decent place to stay

As far as (over 100lb) large-dog pet-friendly motels go, this is a good one. It looks rather dumpy overall, but we found our room to be quite clean and comfortable. The only major issue was that one of our outlets didn't work, and it happened to be the one single outlet that powered the television, microwave, AND mini-fridge, so we had to switch rooms. But the new room was fine. The surrounding area outside is typical city-scape and there weren't any great or large pet relief areas, unfortunately, but we found some small spots near to the Dunkin' that worked well enough. Nothing glamorous to speak of at this hotel, but it was practical with clean rooms, so I would stay again.

Needs to be cleaner

I wanted to really like this hotel. It looked nice upon entering the room. But then, I noticed my shoes making sticky sounds as I walked across the floor and saw some major flaws in cleanliness. The floor was sticky and dirty and had a noticeable sticky spill near the fridge. We took a washcloth to try to clean the floor and it was disgusting after just wiping the main walkway of the room. The bathroom looked good, but had some grime issues as well. The fridge door had a spot of stickiness on it as well. Other than that, we had the deluxe room. The kitchen area was nice and had a roomy fridge and 2 burner stove. Had everything been clean, it likely would have gotten 5 bones from me.

The BEST Large-Dog-Friendly Hotel!

It's hard enough to just find a hotel that allows my Irish Wolfhound, let alone to find a nice hotel that allows her. I travel a ton and this has been the absolute best hotel yet! It was perfectly clean, the beds and pillows were comfortable, the shower was absolutely gorgeous, water pressure was amazing. It had Starbucks coffee, breakfast, fridge, microwave, and everything you need. A nice bonus for pet owners is the doors go directly outside, making it easy to take your dogs out when they need to go pee. The only downside I can possibly think of is that the pet relief areas are rather tiny, but they did have clean up bags and trash cans all around the hotel. Pet fees were very reasonable, as was the price of the room. We had a spectacular stay!

Acceptable

The good: We liked the hard floor; I can't stand carpet, particularly in hotels that allow pets. I like that the doors go directly to the outside, that makes it easier to take the dogs out. They gave us extra pillows when we asked. The OK: It was clean-ish, as in the bedding seemed clean and the sink and shower were alright looking and clean enough.

The bad: No towel for the floor. No hand towels. The 2 bath towels were small. There was only 1/3 of a roll of toilet paper and no extra toilet paper. The chair in the room was stained and gross. The keycard we were given was oily and sticky and they didn't stick it in the usual little envelope with the room number on it. The facility as a whole was pretty run down. It was decent enough for a person desperate to find a place that would accept an Irish Wolfhound, but I would never stay if I had other options.

Great value

The good: It had hard floors, which I love for pet-friendly places. It was clean. The bed and bedding was good and clean. Good parking with easy access through doors directly to outside, which makes it easier to take dogs out to pee and whatnot. Customer service was good.

The bad: Could use some TLC, the flooring was warping by the shower and the shower needed some minor repairs. Overall, as far as pet friendly hotels go, this was one of the good ones and I would stay again. There may be better options if you have a tiny dog, but with an Irish Wolfhound, I am severely limited and this was one of the rare options.
