great fenced park

this is a great park if your dog tends to wander and needs a fenced in area. there are usually at least a couple other dogs, but it can get pretty crowded on a nice day. the beach area is nice and spacious, but the water can get pretty gross when the mud is stirred up.

we have had great experiences with other dogs/owners at this park but i know that is not always the case. there is a large number of people who visit this park even during the week so do be aware of that if your dog is reactive at all.

pretty scenic trail!

one of my favorite dog-friendly columbus parks! the main walking loop (gravel) is about 1.3 miles and is usually somewhat shaded depending on the time of day. there are many benches and trash cans along the main path. the main path is pretty high traffic on a nice day but not too crowded.

there are several side trails (dirt) that go through the woods around the main loop and are therefore completely shaded. they have access to multiple small beaches if your dog likes to wade/swim. not too many people use the side trails so you can usually get away with letting your dog off leash if you have decent recall. there is also a lot of green space on the other side of the parking lot to play with a frisbee/ball.
