This is a delightfully peaceful spot to take your pups before heading to the hustle and bustle of South Haven. There are extensive trails, mostly 12-24 inch wide dirt/sand. A wide variety of terrains can be experienced in this park. Many of the trail markers are damaged or missing, so visitors will need a keen sense of direction to navigate around. Also, I suggest bringing bug spray, though we had no issues with bugs or ticks during our visit in late May

This lovely cafe/wine bar is open on only Saturday's but is worth the wait. The patio is enclosed and very pup friendly. The cafe serves a variety of coffee beverages, sandwiches, baked goods, and a charcuterie board...with a special version for your pup as well. Wine flights are available, and the adjacent store sells wine and beer to go, along with pup gear and local artist items. Outside, a mini enclosed Dog Park welcomes Fido to run around before settling on the patio. As you drive down a rural road to find this place, you may think "this kind of sophistication can't be in the middle of nowhere". It is...and it's lovely.

This park is pristine and a gem. Found close to I-81, this park is a nice size for your dog to run, as well as play on the various obstacles. The park is full grass and was not at all muddy after a few days of rain. There is a nice shaded area for humans, and the two enclosures were separated based on dog size. There is water on site.

A museum that allows dogs? I’m in. This spot is an instant trip back to the 1980’s. Tons of fun Duke’s of Hazard memorabilia…including several replicas of the cars from the show. Our dogs got lots of attention here. Great stop on the way to Shenandoah National Park.

This is a charming place in Wardensville, with counter coffee and a vast array of baked goods. The shop also sells a huge selection of intriguing gourmet foods and some artisan items. On the second Saturday of each month, this market features a produce and artisan market. There are ample outdoor, well-spaced tables…some with umbrellas, as well as clean and large outside restrooms. My only complaint is that the market blasts loud retro pop. The music is way too loud and does not match the organic vibe of the market. Hearing the surrounding sounds of nature would make a stop here much more pleasant.
