Our dogs were welcomed and the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed just one night but had a delicious dinner with room service. The property is dreamy, located in the hills above Santa Barbara, quiet and peaceful with lush landscaping, a gorgeous pool and clean, fully equipped fitness center. As for the dogs, they had their own beds and bowls and even Evian water bottles waiting for them.
The property was very quiet, with less than half the rooms occupied. We were in the far back of the property in a downstairs room, which was spacious but quite dark.
The fireplace and TV were both broken, although we did not spend a lot of time in the room, so it did not really matter. Flooring was vinyl faux wood, which was probably appropriate for a dog friendly hotel, but kind of disappointing for a hotel as expensive as this one. The bathroom was spectacular (seriously) with a huge spa tub, walk in shower and separate toilet room. Paneling was falling off the tub and one of the sink faucets was broken, but again, these are unimportant when you can step outside and enjoy the ocean view, warm sunshine and blooming flowers. A few simple fixes and the room is a cozy winter retreat. Overall, we were happy and would go back, but would request an upstairs room.
