We will be traveling through the area to see my brother in Summerville, S.C. then on to Florida for a while. Returning, we will stay in Summerville again. We are traveling with two dogs, one 7 year old Cocker Spaniel (34lbs) and 1 year old Mini Bernadoodle (23 lbs)

We found Homewood Suites by Hilton to be a good choice. It was conveniently located and in a quiet area. The room was spacious, and the staff very friendly and helpful. My dogs were welcomed by all they met. The complimentary breakfast was plentiful with lots of choices. I will definitely stay here again soon on my way back home.
I'm adding an addendum to my first review of Homewood Suites by Hilton. My first stay there was perfect. However, I had confirmed reservations with the hotel for my return trip. Two days before I was to arrive, I received a voicemail from the hotel telling me that they did not have a room for me and that my reservation had been cancelled. Had I not have seen the voicemail, I would have arrived at the hotel expecting my reservation to be honored.
They did reserve a room at another hotel across the street. This hotel, although nice, did not have a full kitchen. It was imperative that I have a full size refrigerator with freezing unit. The other hotel only had a small mini refrigerator that barely kept things cool. After arriving at the other hotel and checking in, I did go to the Homewood Suites and asked to speak to the manager to get an explanation as to how this could possibly have happened, since I had confirmed my second reservation.
The manager was not available but was told by the desk clerk that they had oversold the hotel and had a convention there. They therefore had to cancel reservations and move people to other hotels. What concerned me the most was that three weeks prior, when I was checking out, I confirmed my return reservations and was told everything was good and they would see me in 3 weeks. They had to know then that they had a convention booked. Besides, I had booked my two stays in November of 2025. The manager was supposed to call me but never did.
I expected some compensation from the hotel for my inconveniences as well as for booking me into another hotel that didn't need the specific needs that I had. At the time of this writing, I still have not heard anything from the manager nor received any type of compensation for inconveniences caused by the hotel. I certainly would rethink booking at this hotel in the future since they don't seem to care about inconveniencing their clients.
