We arrived at lunchtime on a Sunday during a holiday weekend. The restaurant was not at all busy, but we waited for a long while at the hostess stand before anyone acknowledged us. The wait staff was friendly, but they did not offer our pup a bowl of water (no bowls of water to be seen anywhere - at least 3 other parties with dogs were seated outdoors near us). The food was so-so.

Barcelona offers a pet-friendly fine dining experience right in the center of Pittsburgh’s cultural district downtown. While getting a spot inside the restaurant usually requires a reservation (it gets PACKED) there is a small sidewalk patio that is perfect for dining Al fresco with your pup. We enjoyed the more tranquil atmosphere outside, and each member of the serving team made such a fuss over our dog! They offered us a fresh bowl of water and a treat, and we humans enjoyed an excellent charcuterie and selection of tapas. We will not hesitate to visit again if in the area.

Pets are allowed to dine outside, but come early or plan to wait for a table because reservations are for indoors only. The food was really good.

The innkeepers are very accommodating and there were lots of friendly pets on site with lots of green space for them to move about. I did feel that the housekeeping staff was somewhat lackluster… they did not appear to be short staffed, but we had to inquire as to whether or not someone was going to come and clean out room after watching them come and go from other rooms, and all they did was replace towels in the bathroom… they didn’t make the bed. I felt that to be a bit weird. The rooms are a bit musty but there are no pet odors, so that’s good.

Ran to The Pier to get out of the rain. First, we were all but ignored at the hostess station. Sent my boyfriend to inquire inside and was told that the only pet friendly seating was at the uncovered outside tables at the bar. Would have been great had they not been soaked from the rain. But - there were lots of dogs at the bar and nobody complained. Seems like a good place... the timing just wasn’t right for us.

Came on a Tuesday during 4th of July week during prime lunchtime and had no trouble being seated right away. I agree that it’s a great spot off the beaten path and away from the crowds in Newport. The food was reasonably priced and tasty.
