The Canopy was a nice hotel with maintenance problems. The trash can at the valet stand was overflowing. The door to our room only opened halfway (45 degrees). There is a Starbucks next door.
There were good walking areas for dogs.

The Embassy Suites by Hilton is a great hotel. It’s in a great location. It has a Starbucks -type coffee shop. It has a good breakfast.
You can self park or valet park.
We have been going there with our dog for four years. The staff is responsive.
The problem is the hotel rooms are poor condition. We had problems such as:
- the room door won’t open properly.
- the thermostat doesn’t work.
- plumbing leaks.
- the steel door to the wall AC unit fell off.
- some lights don’t work.
The manager told me the hotel with be remodeled in two years. We will go back then.

Shamrock Bar & Grille was great.
They brought water for the dogs. They have shaded seating areas with fans for hot days.
I had shepherds pie and an IPA beer.
It couldn’t have been better.

Orchard Bar & Table is a must see.
It looks like a farm with chickens, orchards, grape vines, bee hives, raised planter boxes, compost pits, and four different eating areas.
They had live music, draft beer and good food.

This Best Western Port Clinton Hotel was a dump. The desk gave us a room on the second floor. There is no elevator. I had to walk two big dogs and my bags up a flight of stairs. When was the last time you stayed at a hotel with no elevator? The walls were paper thin. I could hear loud voices during the night. At 6am, I heard the couple next door getting busy. You would be better off staying in Sandusky, OH.

The DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Lexington feels like a luxury hotel. Inside is a lavish atrium with an open restaurant and bar in the lobby. The suite was luxurious. There is a good section of grassy lawn behind the hotel for dogs. We loved it!

We love good food, draft beer and dogs. The Shacks has it all. This is the best dog-friendly venue we have ever seen. They have multiple restaurants on an elevated patio above a dog park. Try the Texas Burrito at OMG Tacos and have a cold draft beer from GRRROWLER'S. Enjoy your meal while watching dogs play below. Chat with other dog owners. It's heaven...

We had lunch and dinner at Clock Tower Ales. You need to check in with the hostess and then they have a special dog gate to the patio. There were 5 or 6 dogs on the patio. They brought out a water dish for Stella the Akita. The food and beers were very good.
