This was perfect for an overnight stop on our first road trip with our dogs (2 Great Danes) to the Black Hills. In addition to the dedicated pet area out front, there was a big grassy area behind the hotel to walk them. The room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable and most welcomed after a long day of driving. The dogs did just fine and we would definitely stay here again if we’re ever in the area.

This was our first road trip with our two Great Danes, Gus and Charlotte, and it couldn’t have gone any better. Jeff’s cabin was perfect and allowed us to decompress and relax from our busy work lives. It was just what we needed to get away from it all. The cabin met all of our expectations plus more. We explored the acreage, which was beautiful and the dogs thoroughly enjoyed it, especially Charlotte. She was fascinated by the little chipmunk and rabbit she stirred up. Gus, being one to not enjoy nature as much, was content to just sunbathe in front of the big windows inside the cabin.
For us, the location was perfect. We were 20 minutes from local attractions which was very convenient. We got groceries at Krull’s Market in Hill City, a very clean grocery store which provided everything we needed and highly recommend. As far as getting to the cabin, we had a Ford Explorer and didn’t have any issues in accessing the road to get to cabin. We’ve added this place to one of our top favorite places to stay and plan on returning. Definitely dog friendly and the host was wonderful.. We’ve told everyone at home how peaceful and serene the cabin was and can’t recommend this place enough to anyone. The only regret I have is not staying longer.
