What a great hidden beach. We weren’t the only ones to find it. There were several families and a few other folks with dogs. We brought our extra long 25ft leads so we could toss a ball into the water and keep our dogs on leash. No one seemed to mind and there was room for everyone.

August 2026, the Five Mile Drive-in is out of business. Closed.

I booked this hotel for its location near the highway. The price was good. The room was good. The hotel was not noisy but outside noise was noticeable such as trash collection in the early morning (dumpster was below our end of the hotel), freight trains nearby. The hotel staff were good.

The restaurant was within walking distance of several dog friendly hotels. The open air patio was dog friendly. Our waiter Zach took care of our table and was fine with having the dogs nearby. It was very convenient when traveling.

Just a decent room, a bit small but they allowed dogs for a fee.

The La Quinta was just like it should be. A nice big, clean, comfortable room where bringing two medium sized dogs was no big deal. Like it happens every day because it does! No pet fee, no worries. We saw other little dogs. We saw other full size dogs. They ask if you want to purchase a pet damage insurance with zero pressure if you decline. A great rate for the room and breakfast is included. The best deal we found.
