I can’t praise Pelican Spa enough! It’s a central, clean, and massive property where each building/room has an eclectic style and bespoke features. Everywhere you look is filled with curated art and themed decor. Even better, the staff and long-term guests are welcoming and super pet-friendly.
I originally booked 3 nights in the Persimmon Suite (main courtyard) for myself and my two dogs, but loved it so much I extended to a week and moved to The Loft (Red Pelican building). Both rooms are spacious, comfortable, and wildly unique—Persimmon has a private courtyard with mountain views, while The Loft has a funky MTV Cribs vibe.
They offer complimentary, no-wait soaks (recommend the red spa). Plus, you're right across from a great dog park (with single-use fenced areas), a people park, and within a 5-minute walk to all tbe popular spots—Passion Pie, brewery, movie theater, hot springs, etc.
A quick tip based on other reviews: Skip this if you have chain hotel expectations. But if you appreciate spaces built with intention that radiate warmth, where every detail has a story and colorful characters abound, you will feel right at home.

A perfect base for exploring all the surrounding parks and walks! Affordable, two-story, motel-style rooms that are a bit older but offer a cozy cabin feel. No pet fees is incredible! Jim, who owns/runs it, is super sweet and filled with recommendations for things to explore. Great breakfast in the morning. Easy access to the river and trails (river current is too fast for swimming). The hot tub was amazing! An absolute gem of a find bc not advertised anywhere. Would 💯 recommend staying here!!

Was told dogs aren't allowed inside--just in the outside patio, with no music and terrible lighting. Murals were super pretty, though!

Incredible service and the host, Ruby, even moved our patio reservation inside the bar because it was cold and she was worried about the dog's comfort! Stunning, warm, and plush decor surrounded by historic architecture. Delicious cocktails, great food, and overall great vibes. Perfect place to unwind after visiting the sand dunes!! I visited at night in October and the Halloween decorations were crazy elaborate!!

Their huge patio along the river is not available to dogs because "it's not FDA approved." First time I've heard that. The approved area are some super uncomfortable metal tables on a gravel area about halfway between parking lot and brewery entrance, right on the walkway (so lots of foot traffic, if you have a nervous pup), and no shade umbrella. Slow/no service so we left. The only nice thing is there's a walkway from the brewery along the river to a cute little town park. Recommend that 💯 over Riff Raff.

They've remodeled so no more beer garden, but they welcome dogs inside or on the sidewalk patio (on main street, so lots of traffic noise). Open super late too, so good spot for a nightcap!

We booked The Cypress for an hour and it was stunning! Clean, spacious, and water already filled for your arrival. Private shower and overhead shade. Your pup can lounge while you soak--and so affordable!! They sell out quickly so recommend booking in advance, especially on weekends!

This place blew my mind! It's a resort as well as a hot springs spa, so you can book a soak without having to be a guest. They have So. Many. Options. for a soak!!
They have about 6 communal pools with different temps and layouts (including swings in one so you can soak while swinging!). Loungers and hammocks all over the place--and art. And, you can bring your dog to this area!! There's a "canine cabana", which is an adorable dog-sized pappasan with a leash where they can chill / watch you. All of it overlooks the river and I 💯 recommend going at night because it's pretty empty and the lights / music are surreal! Veryyy hippie/burner vibes. And, you can book last-minute during the week for half off solo soaks!
Even better, they have 3 private soaks where you can bring your puppos!! Super spacious and overlooking the river. These run hotter temps, but there's an overhead rain shower than can drop down cool water (but still, pretty hot). Loungers, shower, and privacy curtain if want to block river view. Best relaxation with puppos!!
And, everywhere has the most beautiful fragrance *plus* they offer complimentary tea and coffee to add to the relaxtion. Would live there if I could lol 😆

The walk is almost entirely unshaded, so bring lots of water and sun protection for you and puppos. Recommend doing trail clockwise so river views greet you at the end. The trail starts weaving through land and eventually winds along the river, but no safe spot to swim or enter. Views of rock formations are stunning! About halfway along the walk, there's a big tree and shaded area--great for resting. Towards the end of the trail there are a couple of metal benches, but fully exposed to sun. Last bit of trail cuts straight through land back to trailhead. Alltrails says it taks 30-60mins to complete. That was not accurate for us. Took about 2hrs because of heat (in October) and one dog needing breaks from sun. Recommend doing super early/late in day.

Small, sandy/dusty dog park with two enclosed areas. No water station and nothing but an enclosed yard (no activity stations, enrichment, etc). Short trail around the dog park in the woods that was nice!

Super easy to book last minute. Incredibly welcoming and friendly with dogs. Tour itself was pretty underwhelming, but could have just been thr guide. Super walkable and easy way to learn about Roswell, but many of the stops are along the main street which lotsss of people drag through in loud cars. We left before the end bc one of my pups is super scared of loud cars. Very affordable way to spend a night in town!

Trees, shaded areas, water, toys--just perfect for puppos and their humans! The best part: single use enclosure for doggos that prefer solo fun. And right next to a pretty pond and super nice people park. Smack dab in middle of town so short walk to everything else you wanna do. Right on major road so lots of traffic noises (if you have anxious pup recommend the single use area at the bottom of slightly hill).
