Hidden charges
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Greeley COWe made reservations through BringFido and when we tried to check in we were told that the hotel would be charging our credit an additional $100 to hold for damages. There was a small flyer with this policy behind the front desk but no mention elsewhere. BringFido went to bat and got our reservation cancelled but the whole experience was shady.

Huge park
Frank S. Ortiz Dog ParkMany points for a HUGE dedicated dog space. There are dozens of paths that cross the space - up and down arroyos, traversing hillsides and along ridge lines. However, off-path has a lot of cactus and the trails themselves have an inordinate amount of broken glass. We came a week before a much needed community clean up. There was a fabulous water station for pups - ground height water fountains that also had bowls to fill up. On a Saturday, there were A LOT dogs but there is so much space that it never felt crowded.

Fabulous
Bear Creek Dog ParkTen out of 5 stars. Tons of open space for running and fetching with a magical stretch of wooded paths next to Bear Creek. Owners and dogs were friendly and conscientious. This was the cleanest dog park we have run in.

Beautiful setting
Izanamiin the foothills above Santa Fe, this is a unique dining experience. Floofs are accepted in the outdoor space but there are no water bowls or extras for four-leggers. The food was outstanding. The lower parking lot is preferred with stairs going up to the restaurant or a shuttle will deliver you to the entrance - not sure about the pet policy for the van. There are 91 wide steps through a beautifully landscaped hillside if you choose to walk. Reservations accepted with a preference available for the outdoor patio.

Superb
Cowgirl BBQThis was an experiential treat. A table in the shade, great service and better food with live music in the background for a late lunch launched Cowgirl BBQ into my top 10 dog restaurants in the country. FYI: As a vegetarian, I go to BBQ places because my husband loves the food with the understanding that I will probably enjoy coleslaw and a biscuit. The menu at Cowgirl had something for every dietary need - from vegan to GF to carnivore delights. 10 stars.

So great
MainStay Suites Coralville - Iowa CityAs with other reviewers, I was impressed with the location and its walkability. I left a pillow at the hotel and proceeded to drive 12 hours home. Since the case displayed one of my children’s artwork form toddlerhood, I was hoping to get it returned. The staff located a box, provided dimensions and sent it back with the label I emailed. This will be my future permanent cross-country stay.

Worth it
Quality Inn GallipolisThis is a property that has seen a lot of travelers and it shows. But it is very clean and the staff is friendly. The best part is the fairly poop-free ‘backyard’ that provides some much needed safe walk time. For a quick overnight stay it was great.

Waggin' Tails Dog ParkThis was a fair sized dog park with water and seating. It is too bad that there was noticeable droppings - disguised in leaf litter.

Outstanding
Dog IslandDog Island is one of the best dog parks we have seen in our cross-country journeys. The island is surrounded by water complete with Sandy beaches. (Clogs we’re not the best footwear🐶)
I was impressed by how clean the park was - very few poops.

Clean And Easy
La Quinta by Wyndham ClarksvilleThis was an easy overnight stay with clean rooms. A detailed form about our dog was required which was a first for us. I was asked over the phone when making the reservation to provide proof of service animal status which is ILLEGAL - a violation of federal ADA law. I did not realize how uncomfortable being asked to prove my disability. something to be thoughtful about from now on.

Beautiful Area
Highland Lake Inn & ResortWe enjoyed a 3-day stay at this 26-acre property. A beautiful path to a lake and very walkable roads between facilities. The Seasons restaurant is one the most highly rated and the area and the food is amazing. I wouldn’t call it dog-friendly (water bowl would change that) but it was a lovely outdoor area for a fine dining experience.

Amazing Dog Park!
Twin Lakes Recreation Area Dog ParkWow! not only is it huge but relatively clean for a well-used park. we spoke with a native of the area who said the ponds/lakes do NOT have sewage in them (re: the one negative review) and that his dog swims 4-5 days a week. The other dog owners were friendly and big play advocates of friendly dogs. Yhe one scuffle we witnessed (a puppy just learning manners) was managed immediately and kindly by the hooman. Columbia will now be a must stop when traveling.

Great Overnight Stop
Candlewood Suites Columbia East an IHG HotelWe stopped here going cross country and returning. The rooms are clean as are the grassy areas. There is a road behind the hotel that allows for a short walk with Fido.

Oliver Bentleys Historic Dog Walk TourThis tour was an amazing walk through 150 years of history with only 3 other parties in the group - much smaller than other walking tours. and the treats were great, too.

Dirty And Dog Tolerant
Kimpton Brice Hotel an IHG HotelI was so excited to stay at a dog-friendly hotel with dog goodie bags, bowls and bedding in the rooms. This was not that hotel. marginal check-in experience, finally went to housekeeping for a water bowl and none of the other amenities as advertised. But it was the filthy bathroom floor, mildew growing in the shower, the paint flakes in the window sill and the broken shears that sunk this hotel to a barely 2 star. Most hotels is Savannah are dog friendly - choose one of those.

Just A Bed
Super 8 by Wyndham KearneyPaper thin walls, mounted A/C unit - inefficient and loud. Could hear everything going on in the next room. (Cringe) Very in-appetizing breakfast area. Unwrapped pre-made omelets uncovered on an orange serving tray in a small refrigerator with other food items.
There is a grassy area for doggie but it is not well maintained.
Hotel is in a commercial area surrounded by busy streets. Front desk person was aggressively disdainful when we checked out and mentioned the a/c wasn’t cooling.

Dirty And Unfriendly
Cafe StellaThe ‘patio’ is a smoker’s retreat from the cool vibes inside the coffee shop. No dog bowls, none forthcoming even though we asked several times since it was 90 degrees. There tables and concrete patio were littered with food, ashes, spills and flies.
