I have a black Standard Poodle pup named Hank who loves all creatures big and small. His favorite are the human kind and he gets really excited when he meets someone new. He’s unaware of his size but isn’t offended if you’re not a fan of dogs who jump up to say hello!

Great Place - Great Price!

SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Blue Springs

recently upgraded rooms this hotel is very clean and the staff are polite and accommodating. the room was huge - the bathroom was bigger than my spare bedroom and had a full sized tub and changing area. the bed was big and the sheets were very clean and crisp. there’s a tv, microwave, refrigerator and blow dryer, as well as a small coffee maker in the room. there’s also an elevator which was greatly appreciated if you’re like me and lugging a suitcase, a cooler and your pup up to the 3rd floor! I would definitely stay here again and definitely tell my friends to stay here. it’s inexpensive, easy to access from I-70, quiet and clean!

Worth Every Penny

Burlington Stay Inn

recently updated the room was large, freshly painted and had a nice refrigerator and microwave. there’s also a new flat tv with cable and WiFi connectivity is included. the bathroom is small but clean and the bed is fairly comfortable and the sheets are stark white and smell fresh. the dog walk area is the only reason I didn’t give this hotel 5 bones. there is indeed a grassy walk behind the property but it had broken glass and puddled water covered with green slime so I walked him across the street which is a huge open field that he seemed to enjoy. to my horror when we got back to the room he was covered from head to toe with sand burs! my hands are bleeding from pulling them off every inch of his 28” tall body including his face! it would have been perfect if they would have just mowed and blown all those sharp burs away! for the price though it’s worth every penny just avoid the dog walk area and field.

Priced Right But....

Super 8 by Wyndham Independence Kansas City

I’m honestly afraid for my safety and the safety of my vehicle. The hallway smells like they soaked the carpet in cheap perfume and despite the stench you can still smell something that is similar to a decaying corpse. There are ladies of the night in the parking lot bringing men in and out and worse than that their “boyfriends” are lurking around the parking lot waiting to get paid! The room itself is ok but only because it was recently remodeled. The stench from the hall isn’t as bad in the room but the vents on the ac unit make it hard to feel like you won’t get COVID from the years of food and dust piled high in the vents! Unfortunately I booked it through this site which says you understand this is non-refundable so I’m stuck here for the night - wish me luck!

Large, Well Maintained Space

Dog Park at Mercer County Park

My Standard Poodle pup loves this park! It’s really big and they keep the grass and surrounding play area free from holes so pups can run full speed without tripping in a hole dug by another dog whose owner was too busy chatting to correct the digging. They have 3 waste clean up stations that are stocked with bags and most people are good about using them. I have witnessed folks pretending not to see their dog go to the bathroom and leave the park and pile behind which is rude and disrespectful to the rest of the patrons especially if you end up accidentally stepping in it or worse your dog gets knocked down in the waste! I don’t think this is the parks fault though since they do all they can to keep it clean. The locals need to care more about their dogs soiling the grounds than the latest gossip.
