Dirty room, dog was uncomfortable and so I was I
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Roanoke SalemThe room clearly wasn’t cleaned. At first I wasn’t sure when I first saw crumbs and other dirt on the floor. It was obvious it was vacuumed or swept. Then I noticed the toilet paper was only 1/4 full and the toilet bowl itself was questionable. I pulled back the sheets and there were hairs. You could also tell my the feel of the sheets that is wasn’t fresh, or maybe just old but the hairs were a big no for me.
They got me another room and it smelled clean and was obvious it was fresh and made it more obvious the other one was not.
The bed made weird cracks like it was going to snap or break anytime I moved. My dog is normally chill and will just go right to sleep (we travel a lot) but he would not settle and kept looking around nervously. I also found the room extremely uncomfortable. I’ve stayed at many La Quints, I usually like them. I enjoy the free breakfast when I was to get on the road early but this was terrible and my next three nights on the road I choose other hotels.
I’ve never written a bad review in my life, I’m easily satisfied but this was bad.

Great location! Gorgeous room! amazing staff!
The River InnThis was a last minute stop when I was too tired to keep driving. After a poor sleep in a less than nice dog friendly hotel I was over the moon to pull up to this place. Finally a dog friendly hotel where I didn’t have to give up luxury and location for having my pup without paying an arm and a leg.
It was so affordable, no pet fee. Definitely coming back.
Parking fee is $50 valet. Well worth it!

Great spot!
Hotel Nyack, a JdV by Hyatt HotelI had to unexpectedly cut my drive short when the sun was going down and there were a lot of deer on the road. I found this spot on the app and was kinda blown away that I stumbled
upon such an awesome place and a great town.
There is beach state park walking trail along the water only a 5 min drive away. There isn’t a ton of grassy areas around the hotel but if you walk around the back there is more.
It’s very nice! Way better that other chain places and the price isn’t much more! Definitely coming back.
