Wild Blue Dogs Fall Camp

WBD Make new friends

Great ready to return from my third year at Wild Blue Dogs Camp. Last years was an absolute blast! If you’re wondering what dog camp entails, picture a work conference that’s a thousand times more fun, with your furry best friend by your side. Wild Blue Dogs Camp is the ultimate retreat for dog lovers looking to blend learning, adventure, and a bit of canine mischief in a breathtaking setting.

Set along the picturesque shores of Lake Tahoe at a charming 4-H camp, the facility offers an impressive array of activities to keep both you and your dog engaged. From agility courses and rally obedience to paddleboarding and kayaking, there’s no shortage of ways to bond with your pup and enhance your skills. Arts and crafts sessions add a creative flair, and scent work classes provide an exciting challenge for both you and your dog.

What truly sets Wild Blue Dogs apart is its incredible community of like-minded dog parents. You’ll meet fellow enthusiasts who share your passion and enthusiasm, making it a fantastic opportunity to forge new friendships—both human and canine. The organizers work tirelessly to ensure a great experience, adapting classes to meet participants' needs and even adjusting activities when the weather doesn’t cooperate. One year, despite the rain, the camp managed to keep everything running smoothly and accommodated everyone’s needs.

The accommodations are cozy and evoke fond memories of grade school summer camp cabins. Showers are a short walk away but are clean and convenient. The meals, served cafeteria-style, are surprisingly good for camp fare, ensuring you stay fueled for all the day’s activities.

Wild Blue Dogs Camp is not only a fantastic experience but also supports a cause close to my heart. As a nonprofit dedicated to dog cancer research, the camp plays a vital role in advancing treatments that benefit both dogs and humans. They also provide support to dog owners who might struggle to afford treatment, which is especially meaningful to me after losing my boy Crush to lymphoma.

It’s worth noting that Wild Blue Dogs Camp isn’t cheap, but the value you receive is well worth the investment. From room and board to a variety of classes and the potential to obtain certifications in various dog sports, the camp offers an exceptional experience.

In short, Wild Blue Dogs Camp is an exceptional blend of fun, learning, and community, all set in a beautiful location. If you’re looking to deepen your bond with your dog while enjoying a range of activities and connecting with fellow dog lovers, this camp is definitely worth checking out!

Awesome Membership-Only Dog Park in Fresno!

We’ve been coming to this park for nearly 10 years with our dogs, and it’s been a total game-changer! It’s about 1.5 acres with separate areas for small and large dogs, a fun little agility course, and a beach-entry pool that’s perfect for cooling off in the Fresno heat.

There’s plenty of shade, restrooms on-site, and the entire park is gated and secure—you get a key card with your membership, which is currently $20/month (month-to-month only).

Dogs must be neutered if over 6 months, pass a quick temperament test, and be up to date on vaccinations. There’s also an age minimum, so check their website for full details and the application process.

Clean, safe, and such a great space for socialization and play. Highly recommend!

Out of town visiting

I'm from out town and looked up dog friendly places. We randomly decided to give you a try. My husband had the roast beef dip. I had the pastrami sandwich. We also ordered chilli cheese fries with pina colada bang. First off it was alot of food for the two of us. Chili cheese fries seemed bottomless. It could be easily shared with 4 people. I really enjoyed the chilli cheese fries with tons of cheese. My husband felt his sandwich could have used more flavor. I enjoyed my pastrami sandwich it had the right flavor. The food is greasier than what we normally eat but good. The pina colada bang settle my sweet tooth. It was like a virgin pina colada. My pups enjoyed it all. Over all 50/50 split but we would go back. Drive thru spend was pretty quick. I think there were 3 cars ahead of us & we got out in 10min. Workers appeared to be hustling. The drive thru person was friendly.
There is outdoor seating area but July in Simi Valley it's to hot for our pups to be outside.

We happen to be in the area again in May and decided to repeat visit. Not much has changed in 10 month except the weather. There is still outdoor seating and the weather cool enough we could eat outside with out pups. Learning that last time it was to much food my husband & I decided to split pastrami sandwich. My husband enjoyed pastrami sandwich but it was still to much food for us (not a bad thing). We also ordered chili cheese fries and the severing still large. We both ordered pina colada bang but sadly it was nothing like our last visit. Very disappointing it was more water down juice. Oh well 2 out of 3 not bad. Would we go again? Maybe just not order the drink.

Late breakfast

Zorro's offers late breakfast, but we decided to have lunch. They also offer a doggie menu with many options. My husband & I shared California chicken melt with fries (can be substituted ie. Fruit & more). My husband also had their "peoples choice award winning" clam chowder. He agreed with award. There is heated outdoor seating so we could enjoy our meal with our fur baby. My fur boy had chicken & broccoli(see pic)...licked clean. Both fur baby & husband were equally happy with their meals. So, was I. Definitively we will visit again.

Biscuits & gravy

We are from out of town and randomly yelped breakfast locations.I was trying to find a place that served biscuits & gravy for my husband. My husband loves himself some good biscuits & gravy. We were also looking for outdoor seating for my dog to join us and you provided both. Service was friendly. They had 4 outdoor seating places. Unfortunately, ash trays on all tables outdoors indicating smoking permitted . My husband stated his biscuits & gravy is in the top tier of against other restaurants. I had french toast with eggs & sausage. It was all Delicious. We would definitely go back.
