Traveling the United States in a camper van. We have a shihtzu/maltese mix named Chewbacca, a mini schanuzer named Ahsoka, and a Yorkie/Pom mix named Hera. Checking out all the best spots across the nation š¶š¾

Worked with Canine Rebel Club while staying in the Arkansas Valley Area with my dog Blake, and it exceeded expectations. The training side is super approachable but clearly backed by real knowledge and experience. It didnāt feel cookie-cutter at allāeverything was tailored to Blake and what he needed.

$7 for a side of potatoe? $5 for a single scramble egg for dog? I can literally buy a potatoe at store for 1$ and almost get half a dozen eggs for $5 so thatās ridiculous. Not even on the beach to say that pricing is fairā¦ā¦Park is here is small. Service was also terrible, first people waiting , got seated last, people who arrived after had orders put in and delivered before our order even taken.

Wish there was more small dogs when we were visiting. Awesome upcycled materials used. Our gang has enjoyed their mid America trip with STL and OKC stops

Wet from a fresh storm but nice to get dogs to stretch legs while waiting for prescription at local Walmart.

We've definitely been to hotels with marked potty areas, bag stations, and water bowls. Didnāt really have anything like that. The room itself was very basic, but didnāt have a kitchen so I guess if staying multiple days that might make more worth it. No mold like Florida hotels so gonna rate this right in the middle.
Big patio with covered areas for hot days and snowy ones. Some dog friendly secret menu items that our waitress pointed out, beef patties, chicken patties, or bacon. Dog bowls with water, live music. Pretty much as good as you can get in this area of Colorado. š„šš¤š¤

Updated 9/18/2024 neen here a few times over a few years with different dogs.
first time back today with our new dog in years. they have a few benches with shade but other than that your exposed to lots of sun. while the park itself itās a decent size, is very dry and not pleasing to the eye.
there seems to be always a few dogs who shouldnāt be there whether itās growling and lunging at people, small dogs get bullied, owners not paying attention to their own dogs whether that means their dog taking others toys or not picking up messes. most owners walk on their cell phones talking. Louisville dog park is not far away and a lot better option for trees with some shade and probably close in size to these 6 acres.
itās hard to find places that are one or five bones, but this is close to a one review just from multiple experiences with different dogs over the last 13 years.

You can order a non seasoned no butter patty for $6ā¦.which is a little silly considering adding an extra patty to a human sandwich is only $3.50.
Patio that mostly stays shaded and they will bring out a bowl of water for your dog.
Grass for relief breaks is across oak near churches. But they do have a baggie drop off place near patio.
Decent human food but pricey as well. Happy hour is the way to go.

Great deals at happy hour. Otherwise probably not worth the price. Patio that allows dogs. Sometimes offered water.
Terrible service on multiple occasions. Like ordering and not receiving food for over an hour but orders placed after mine were received. Another time say at bar for 25 minutes with no recognition of being there or offered anything. Terrible service
A nice paved trail that runs next to yampa river thru most of steamboat Springs.
Pros: nice views and some business access plus occasional bathrooms.
Cons: tons of bikers abusing speed regulations. Motorized vehicles scooters, one wheels, long boards, cement so hot during summer months.
Would consider this the least dog friendly of trails. But super accessible for most

Parking is about 1-1.5miles away from dog park. The dirt road is privately owned so if you have ADA plates or hanger thereās two spots next to parkā¦.otherwise park at picture posted. Leash and walk up,
Because of its location up a dirt road the dog park can be neglected at times. Pond that runss thru in. (Sometimes gross in spring when somewhat thawed but not running fully. About 1.5 mile hike from car parking to the off leash play and pond area.
Beware of wildlife, have seen moose on spring creek trail and big fox in dog park area. Please pick up after your furry family member. š©
Looking for more challenge, leash the dog back up and continue heading up springs creek to see how many bridges you can cross.

Awesome hike about 20 minutes out of Steamboat Springs, WAY less crowded than the trails in and near the city. Sarvis is nice with a creek near the parking entrance and small steams mid hike for Doggos to drink. Mostly shaded. Downfall seems to be mosquitos depending on time of year and road going into sarvis parking from both directions is really bumpy and not taken care of, also horse poop on trail for those dogs that enjoy being naughty, worth checking out while around the Steamboat Springs area

Cute little location up elk river road on the way to Clark and farmlands of Routt.
Store cat thatās fairly friendly and sometimes other animals for socialization.
Good selection of dog needs if youāre traveling thru on this end of town. Crates, toys, treats, food, bones. Fairly close to normal retail price, not mountain gauging,

Not necessarily the best, itās between here and Creekside. Winonaās has more options (even some vegan stuff) and more affordable. Creekside better tasting but less options, seasonal rotating menu, typically more shade. But being this is in the heart of downtown very easy to get to and works for all members of family.
Being here in steamboat for a few years this place has had the most consistency.

Ace in steamboat has a small retail section for dogs with a little bit of everything; food, toys, leashes. Itās a bigger Ace and they really love their Doggos up here so always giving love and treats during our socialization stops.

Gwen tends to be booked out for 8ish week but is worth the wait. We have been taking our two girls (schnauzer and Yorkie mix) since puppyhood and they always have a great time. Appts are always quick and affordable for mountains. Downside is not much to do in Hayden while waiting. Worth the drive.

Offers fear free vet care in Steamboat Springs. When moving up here we had one very shy guy and needed to find a vet that would be kind and respectful. We loved them so much it was always a comfort when bringing the other two home over the years that they would have a place that took care of them too. Dr. Reese (currently on maternity leave) and Dr Ramona are amazing. The only reason weāre not leaving 5 bones is because they donāt have emergency care but as close as can be to that.

dogs on leash welcome inside. Milkbones on counter by espresso machines, and housemade whipped puppacinos. Seating in front and also back area that faces emerald mountain and yampa core trail. Outdoor seating in front or west side of building. Worth the drive every time. š¤š¤š¶
Dog friendly patio near the yampa river area in downtown Steamboat. OāNeilās is great for happy hour but expensive other times. Service has been great a few times and other has been just eh. As people who have patronized for a few years now it definitely can vary.

Small parking fee upon arrival. Multiple hiking options from easy -touristy, medium and hard hikes available. U mine trail a lil between the upper and lower parking lot, the hikes at the upper trail/parking have lots of options, sweet soaking under a secondary waterfall at top of hike about 6 miles up. Worth the $5. Water thru most of hike and good amounts of shade.

Blackmere is near the library and west side of emerald mountain. No parking lot but lots of street parking and usually a portopotty or two by entrance, leashed dogs welcome but please clean up after. Different views of steamboat from trail then the views from mount Werner ski resort area.

Breakfast was just eh, kinda slow

We were in town for a family reunion and needed to pick up drinks for bbq. Nice to allow dogs to come in and not wait in car. Our overly excited dog got to come inside and because it didnāt smell of tons of animals and sounds like a shelter she was able to remain calm.
Good selection of drinks.
Three bones for caring about animals when they are not a dog specific business.

Good little dog park just outside of the horsetooth reservoir. Separate areas for small and shy guys and a big area that will lead to a pond seasonally.
Pros:
Separate areas
Water stations
Tons of poo bags and stations to clean up after your dog.
Shade.
Tons of parking.
Cons:
Pea gravel everywhere.
A little outside of city limits. Probably around 15minutes from most places in town.

Usually I save 5 bones for dog specific things. But this was worth it.
First off movies start at 9pm usually a double feature for $9 adults, get there early to get better parking and to enjoy snacks, drinks and time with your pup before the show.
Probably saw 15 families with their Doggos with them. Really fun on Friday and Saturday nights.

Not too far from Flatirons mall and close to downtown Louisville. Once big section with a small area gated off for pond thatās open seasonally but non flowing stagnant water. Typically retirees with dogs out there. Nothing particularly special

Whenever we have friends/family with dogs visit this is where we recommend. Walkable to Yampa River Core Trail or Lower Spring Creek Trail behind old town Hot Springs. Lots of dog-friendly patios for all times of day. Sleep like a baby next to the river.

Running thru the town of golden the trail is a great way to enjoy the sound of clear creek. Near downtown lots of restaurants and things to do. Not many bikers which is nice considering it is paved.

Games for vacay. Legos. Arcade in back and dog friendly? Yes please. We love Steamboat Fun and Games and a great spot to break from heat on summer days. They also have a booth at farmers market on Saturdays.

the Steamboat Farmers Market is every Saturday during summertime, lots of dogs come out to enjoy with their families. Be sure to go early as the asphalt gets hot by the end. Grass to potty at both of market and river nearby to cool off.
Be sure to check out MountainPaw Bakery for fresh dog treats locally made. You can get a doggie chiropractor adjustment at trival booth. Or say hi to Hercules from Steamboat Fun and Games at his booth. Also seen collar and leash booth most weeks.

One bigger area with some shade and water. Smaller/shy area smaller and no trees. The wood chips are better than the pea gravel like the other park but owners definitely leave poops everywhere so keep an eye out when walking

Small store for retail goods, Jax is better for walking and socializing but the Happy Beast has the best food and bones in town,

Did have a variety of fish, rodents and cats for the dogs to stare out. Plenty of grass and shaded parking

Near the movie theatre, but paws and claws is 2 minutes away so save money and go there for the small needs.

Pricey like most things on mountain. Dog friendly patio but not worthy of 5 bone, we went twice and werenāt even offered water for dogs either time.

Whistler is not too far from condo land and hotels. Small trail system next to big open field.
Pros: some off leash, creek nearby
Cons: super close to peopleās property (dog needs to have solid recall), seasonally can be shut at parts, near sports field which can also be distraction for dogs

The hike itself is pretty challenging, lots of elevation gain. You can ride the gondola down if you walk up or do both up and down for more miles. Narrow trail with some shaded spots and some exposed spots but lots of great views of steamboat springs.

You can order food at either restaurant on either side that also have dog friendly patiosā¦.If you like beers maybe worth the try but 3 minutes away is SnowBowl and way more worth it for the puppers. Nothing special for dogs specifically

Dog friendly but not a dog specific place. Bar with some arcade games. Most priced at 25 cents but pinball 1$ some games required tokens. Drinks were just eh but a nice place to cool off while going thru Boise.

Rita has a water station, a bunch of looped trails, some leashed some off leash. All non fenced in so be careful entering and exiting parking. No real shade or natural water going thru. Nice view of Mount Werner

Pros: dog friendly events Sundays,
AstroTurf outdoor area (must be leashed), three dog menu things, free music events and sometimes fundraisers for humane society.
Cons: not tons of shade on turf area, some of dogs allowed into free events are not always great with kids/crowds/other dogs, pricey for human food, no dogs inside.

It was fun to spend an afternoon walking around downtown steamboat trying to figure out the clues and learn about the city.

Best selection of food, treats, toys in the town. Not overly priced and have probably anything youāre needing while visiting. Life jackets, winter jackets and shoes, bones, goats milk, all the toys, all the training gear. By far the best in the Boat

The downfall is the blue algae that they do warn you about with multiple signs. Just have water for your dog ready so they arenāt tempted to drink the lake!? Great hikes, awesome camping, fun lake to SUP with your Pup
Started on the Utah side to see dinosaur bones and check out the very small dog friendly hike to some petroglyphs. Then drive thru colorado side for beautiful view at the end of the road. Definitely a gorgeous national park but like all national parks dogs donāt have much to do.

Big dogs in the small dog area that small dogs donāt want to be aroundā¦.

We save 5 bones for dog specific friendly places but this was fun for both us and our four legged family, 4 bones for something unique to do, the conductor offered us water for the dogs as soon as we got on. A pee relief grass area right before boarding(bring your own bag) and human bathroom. If youāre gonna travel to Carson city or take the loneliest highway (50) check it out

Weāve stopped by twice on our visit to South Lake Tahoe. First on the weekend where yes it was busy but everyone was cleaning up after dogs and keeping them well behaved. When we returned on a weekday we basically had the park to ourselves. About 10-15 minutes drive from most places in Tahoe, weād visit again when traveling thru Tahoe area.

how is this listed on this app?! place has black mold. charges $250 for a night for a one dog room. run down. donāt know why thereās five bone reviews on here

small patio that was everyone elseās choice of seating without dogs so had to wait over an hour to be seated. and nothing really dog friendly besides they say dog friendly patio, no water for our pup. pizza way overpriced for what it is and took a long time considering we ordered basic and for two.i would leave a one bone review but save those for the worst of worst.... at least they had a patio but that shouldnāt really be considered dog friendly. pub dog is minutes away and if you are a real dog lover take them to a place they will actually love

since we thought we hit jackpot weāve shown back up a few times now only to be completely disappointed.
four areas all the same size, two for big dogs, the agility and small dogs.
owners of big dogs are constantly in the small dog area when they have other areas to play is disrespectful....
today will be our last time trying after dealing with that on the regular
awesome little find over the weekend. free trail.
not an overly strenuous hike so nice if youāre from out of town.
the hike was mostly shaded and also had a nice lil creek running next to it for the doggos to cool off whenever needed. it was an on leash hike which might deter some but overall it was a great morning

this park is huge. sections for big and small dogs, an agility area. a creek that runs thru for cooling on hot days. literally made the drive from Denver to check out and might be another reason to come down on the regular.

awesome to see such a great place packed out on a Friday night. great food and drinks for people and pups. our 7lb dog had a blast and we come out of our way from Denver south to visit on the regular now.

donāt be fooled, these guys wanna make you pay a grand plus for a shock collar for your dog, no matter what the breed, issue. doesnāt matter. they will offer things like lifelong lessons and then never return your calls. tried to get our 8lb dog into one. the trainers at Petco and pet smart have more training about dog psychology then these trainers ever learned. if I could give negative bones I would. if you would hit your child to teach them a lesson then this training is for you

good coffee and pupacinnos but not a social hang out
