2 elderly Dachshunds, Hook %26 Pickles. Pickles is insulin dependent, blind and takes dry-eye meds 2x/day so they go everywhere with us. Since COVID, they haven’t even been home alone so extremely spoiled.

Best place for pups in the French Quarter!
Pat O'Brien'swe’ve come to NOLA several times with our dachshunds and Pat O’s is the very best place in the FQ to bring them! Use the Bourbon St entrance to request a table- you must order food to be seated by host and seated tables are best for the dogs. St Peter st entrance is bar patio and it’s first come/first served on the seats. (you’ll most likely stand in a crowd and your pup won’t get service). we had a fantastic corner table and immediately the host brought a giant bowl of ice water for our dog. I asked the waitress if we could have a cup of plain rice with our order for the dog and she even brought him a plate! we had also order beans and rice (NOT spicy at all!) and put a little of that on his rice to sweeten the meal. we also ordered alligator bites, (tastes like chicken!), and he enjoyed just one of those as well. the waitress was so friendly and kind about our dog so we just stayed and kept ordering drinks. (which is what they’re known for so enjoy!)
Fantastic NOLA hotel for pups!
Drury Plaza Hotel New OrleansVery well located, with the excellent CBD/warehouse district restaurants on one side and French quarter on the other. Hotel has two small grassy areas with fully stocked poop bags at each - just a few blocks to a small park where lots of dogs visit. Drury’s full hot breakfast and happy hour meals can be enjoyed on the large outdoor patio with your pup and all staff very dog friendly. Very enjoyable place to stay.
Best Brunch in town for you and your pup!
Bearcat CBDCBD location has a huge patio space and dog friendly everyone here! try all the cocktails- esp blueberry mezcal- and enjoy the amazing food! (scallops and grits add oysters!). very very popular plane and they don’t take rez so weekends will be a wait- we went Friday around 11am and only waited ten minutes.
Best poboys and best dog hang out
Parkway Tavernthis should be your #1 poboy destination- they’re known throughout for the best in the biz (see the poboy fest winner on their menu!) and out of the touristy area so only locals or tourists in the know are here!
this will be your dogs fave hang of the trip! order your food at the window up the steps and alcohol at the lower bar and sit at a covered outdoor table and enjoy!
oysters are only wednesday and Thursday so plan accordingly but the shrimp and James brown poboys are the winners! for $5.99, get their side of jambalaya and share it- so good! and order the smaller poboy unless you’re sharing.
don’t forget to try a Porch Lemonade frozen drink too!!!!
my dog was in dog heaven!
No better spot for you and your pup
Lucy's Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurantidk how much I spent here and I don’t care- we had a blast with all of the fun cocktails ($12-ish) and our pup had a blast with his very own chicken dinner! ($2). ceviche and tacos and Juicy Lucy burger are great but the dog’s own burger or chicken choice stole the show! when a place is this dog friendly, we go three rounds, lol! (and I have a collection of sharks and whales to prove it, lol!). my number ONE choice for pup dining in the area!
Great location, fantastic room!
Best Western Plus Traverse CityWe had room #132, which has an upstairs and downstairs with a spiral staircase and a moon window upstairs. This room was sparkling clean with a new bath and sink area, coffee maker and fridge. Both levels have a queen bed and television. Full, grab and go breakfast available in the morning: eggs, toast, oatmeal, fruit, etc. coffee and tea 24 hours and cookies at 6pm! Dog relief area directly outside our door and outer door, complete with doggie disposal bags. You can walk to downtown. (It was 1.6 miles to an outdoor food truck and bar place called Fleet)
