Andover dog park is a fenced off area in which your dog can roam off leash. It has bags to pick up after your pup, as well as a handful of climbable structures for them to play on. Half of the park is shaded, which helps on those really hot sunny days. Those are the positives.
The park seems a bit rundown and somewhat neglected (overgrown and not well maintained). When we were there, 10 to 11:30 AM on a weekday, the park was deserted. I was hoping to socialize my pup and burn off some of his energy. He quickly tired of exploring the small area on his own and would've gotten more mental stimulation in our own yard.
If you're looking for a place to let your dog off leash and do not care about socialization, this might be a good place for you.

The Chelmsford dog association's park is a great place to socialize your pup, whether small or large. They have two roomy sections (one for large dogs, and one for small dogs) as well as a fenced off area for parties that you can reserve. They also have clearly marked entrances and exits to make it confrontation free when arriving and departing.
There are working bubblers in both areas, which provide water for the dogs most months (except for the winter). Bags are provided to pick up after your pup, and there are plenty of benches. There are also shaded areas for those who want to stay out of the sun.
The park is well maintained by its Director and volunteer community members who pitch in. The community is extremely active, and there are plenty of members who keep offending dog owners in check by reminding them of the rules. Because the park is active, it is a great place to socialize your pup. There are lots of frequent visitors, young and old, and many different play styles.
When visiting, be mindful of the rules; someone will call you out if you are not. And that is a very good thing!

had a fantastic sit down breakfast here. The food was excellent and the accommodations were comfortable. normally, seating is outside for those with dogs. Because the weather was not great, they seated us in the lounge.
