Great Neighborhood Spot

Blue Pit is near all the old mills of Baltimore City and it lends a bit to the working class ambience of the restaurant. This is not, I repeat, NOT, a bad neighborhood. Granted, I believe most of Baltimore City to be full of inviting neighborhoods. As for Blue Pit, I’m a huge fan of all their bbq options, but more frequently opt for the pork plates (ribs are smoked well, pulled pork is moist and tender, and the brats have a perfect snap). The sweet heat bbq sauce is my preference, although the brats are very well complemented by the in house mustard. Drinks are strong and whiskey forward drinks are their strong suit (very well balanced old fashioneds). The beer selection is focused on local brewers and it is pretty solid. This is my favorite bbq in Baltimore. Oh, and they love my pup- even gave her a t-shirt (her favorite).
