Must visit!

Bark Harbor

Must visit! Even if you aren’t bringing your pup. They have everything

Pretty good!

Hadley Point Campground

We spent 3 nights here in a cabin with our pup. Overall, it went well. It is a typical campground, which is not usually my style. We decided on Hadley’s Point because of the cheaper price. It was only about $80 a night with the pet fee. The cabin was simple.

Okay

Beal's Lobster Pier

The location is beautiful, right on the water next to the Coast Guard station. We were seated along the railing of a walkway. There was barely any room for our pup and she ended up laying in the middle of the walkway because there was nowhere else for her to be. The tables were also uncomfortable. The bar stool itself was uncomfortable and was low to the table, which resulted in the table being at about my shoulders. I am a vegetarian and had the veggie burger which was okay. My brother loved the lobster roll though.

EXCELLENT!

Jeannie's Great Maine Breakfast

We loved our breakfast here! We were sat outside almost immediately. Our girl was brought a bowl of water and then the host asked if he could give her some chicken sausage

AMAZING!

Cafe This Way

It was so good that we ate here twice for breakfast. Both times we were sat outside almost immediately and fresh water was brought out to our girl. The one time, the waiter even asked if she could have some bacon

Great and super dog friendly!

Stewman's Lobster Pound Downtown

We had a great time at Stewman’s. I had seen some reviews calling it a tourist trap, but I didn’t really feel that. We did have to walk down a wood ramp to get to our towel and our pup got scared and pancaked to the ground. The hostess was not concerned at all and after we sat down, they brought out fresh ice water for our girl. In addition, there was plenty of room for her to lay down without being in the way. The human food was also great! We got a lobster dinner, the veggie/beyond burger, and blueberry pie. The fries were amazing, as was the bluebe

Amazing time!

Downeast Windjammer Cruise Lines and Bar Harbor Ferry

First, I can’t say enough good things about the crew! They were all so kind and accommodating, also very knowledgeable about everything. There is a gap between some scary stairs and the boat and the crew helped me get our 75lb. girl on and off the boat, practically picking her up. I was so happy with how willing to help they were. Our girl was loved by everyone we sat by. She ended up sleeping most of the time, there was plenty of room for her to scoot under the bench in between my legs. Just some FYIs, if your dog is skiddish of different/loud surfaces, you may want to reconsider going. You have to walk down a somewhat steep metal ramp and then onto a dock that has “spiked” metal. Then come the scary stairs that go up to the boat. They are also metal and have gaps between each step. The sails are also raised and lowered. If you have a brave dog, highly recommend!

Great trail but challenging at times.

Jordan Pond

The trail is a little over 3 miles. Most of it is on level gravel roads and very easy. Then when you get to the other side, there are many drainage sites along the path (your dog may need to jump over them). Additionally, there are raised wooden paths and some spots where they are just rocks to climb over. Our girl did great (11 year old chocolate lab), but I was surprised that she was so willing to go through the rocks. You could always do the easy parts and then just turn around if the rocks are too challenging for your pup. Take note that dogs can not swim in the pond as it is a public water supply.
