Warm welcome for the dogs
Blackwater Falls State Park LodgeThis might be the most dog friendly place we've stayed. Our room was large, overlooking the canyon, on the 2nd floor but right by stairs to go out for peepee walks. Our dog enjoyed lying by the fire in the lounge while we played games, and he had fun meeting other guests. He had the best time on the hiking trails, very well kept & marked w/ interesting falls & rock formations along the way. Stunning pine forest w/moss, ferns & rhododendrons. He was not allowed in the pool area or restaurant - napped in his bed while we went to those spaces. Highly recommend for BringFido folks & doggies!
Beautiful location on the water
Mariners MotelThe motel is adjacent to the marina and there is a large lawn, so very amenable to dog walking. The room was old-fashioned but sparkling clean and has a fridge and coffee maker. They charge $20 extra pet fee. We felt it was a tad over-priced and the beds were uncomfortable. Good option for dog-owners visiting nearby Eastern Neck Nat'l Wildlife Refuge.
Fun group of dogs and dog people
Walter Pierce Park Dog ParkMy big boy was welcomed and had a blast playing w/ the city dogs at this park. Has trees for shade, a picnic table, and a plastic kiddie pool. Can walk down to Rock Creek Park which is also lovely for dogs.
Dog people work here :)
Holiday Inn Express & Suites West Ocean City an IHG HotelMy big dog made fast friends w/ the staff members (who gave him yummy cookies). When I mentioned that I foster animals the staff kindly donated a bag of stained but clean towels from the hotel to our rescue. Good vibes
Chic, relaxing and ideal for dogs
Oakhurst InnI can't imagine a better place to stay w/ a dog - our well behaved large dog was welcome to enjoy the cafe, bar & pool area w/ us. We stayed in room 1 which had easy access to the outdoors & had a bonus sitting area, & was sparkling clean w/ a very comfy bed. Our dog got a little welcome bag w/ treats & a ball. There's a cute park in front of the hotel & an outdoor patio at the cafe (w/ vegan options). We had fun lounging by the pool listening to music & drinking fancy cocktails w/ our dog.
Dog paradise
Four Paws Kingdom CampgroundEverything is built with dogs in mind - there is even a service to check on/walk your dog if you're out for the day. The dog parks are perfect for old dogs like mine (he did the agility course yay!), swimmers, athletic dogs and everything in between. We stayed in the yurt which was clean, welcoming and well stocked. The bathrooms are sparkling clean and the camp store is well supplied. Super quiet at night, convenient to the horse park & dog-friendly wineries. Perfect places to make memories w/ your dog(s) w/ dog savvy, outgoing staff.
