Very Dog friendly Hotel
Algonquin Resort St Andrews by-the-Sea Autograph CollectionThe Algonquin is a Marriott property with a $35 CAD dog fee. Hotel is over 100 years old but is an excellent choice if you are travelling with your dog(s). Dogs are permitted everywhere but the restaurant and pool area and
you can be served on the veranda with your pet. St. Andrews is the most pet friendly town in New Brunswick and pets are welcome on all outdoor patios.
Nice La Quinta Hotel Close To Boardwalk
La Quinta by Wyndham Ocean CityThis hotel is updated and one of the nicer La Quintas I have stayed in. It is also very pet friendly and located one block from the beach. Off season rates are very reasonable but there is a$20 per night pet fee. There are limited green spaces in proximity to the hotel for dog walking but can be found a short walk away.
Our biggest concern wasOcean City is pet friendly only until May 1st when dogs are banned from the boardwalk and beach. This means it is only dog friendly during off season when hardly anything is open. This proved to be a bit of a challenge to find pet friendly places to eat. However, this had nothing to do with the hotel and this hotel is highly recommended if travelling with pets.
Worst La Quinta I Have Stayed At
Comfort Inn Boston MilfordThe only good thing about this La Quinta is that it is dog friendly. I am a La Quinta Gold card member and I would have to say this is the worst La Quinta I have ever stayed in. We walked into our non- smoking room and it reeked of smoke and mould/mildew. The room was dirty and in need of basic maintenance. The bathroom looked like it hadn’t been renovated since the 50s, there was water dripping out of the bathroom ceiling, and the air conditioning unit was filthy and made so much noise that we had to turn it off to sleep.
The area around the hotel was also not good for dog walking. There are no sidewalks and limited green spaces near the property. Although they say pet friendly, I never felt the staff liked pets and put pet owners in substandard rooms which is totally unacceptable.
My advice is to avoid this hotel at all costs. La Quinta normally is pet friendly and gives good value for money but not this hotel.
Very Dog Friendly Hotel
Future Inns HalifaxFuture Inn Halifax is located in the shopping district in the West of the City. About a 15 min drive to downtown, it is a very dog friendly hotel with a green area to walk the dogs, treats for the dogs, and no pet fee. Highly recommended for those travelling to Halifax and looking for a pet friendly hotel.
