I am retired and I must take my blind and deaf Chihuahua mix with me when I travel. She is my deceased parents dog that I adopted after they passed and because she is deaf and blind she is very needy.

Dog, friendly room, dog, friendly tram

NoMad Las Vegas

I love the Nomad dog friendly hotel and casino. It's located inside the smoke free Park MGM hotel. They have a dog friendly tram that stops at a dog friendly 3 story designer brand mall, the Vdara hotel, the Aria hotel and the Belagio. No charge to ride the tram. Also, the Nomad does not charge a pet fee like most other hotels. They do charge a resort and parking fee, but all the nice upscale Vegas hotels do. The rooms are decorated in a sultry dark theme which makes it feel sort of glamorous. They also have an awesome Italian themed area where you can find all kinds of Italian food and Italian specialties. You can go out any door of the casino and be on the street that leads to other casinos, stores and restaurants. My sweet Bernedoodle really enjoyed all the attention he got and had a great time. The only thing I didn't care for is their pet relief area. It's fenced in and the area itself is not bad, but they allow people to stand around and smoke which sort of defeats the purpose of a smoke-free hotel.

Smelly and grungy

Extended Stay America San Diego - Hotel Circle

I walked into the room and a strong sour pungent smell overwhelmed me. I did not ask for a different room, as I assumed they all are smelly since the rooms are so old and run down. I just ran the AC and got used to it, since I only was staying 1 night. The bed linens, bathroom sink and kitchen were clean enough, but the rest of the room was dirty. Carpet was filthy. Walls were filthy. Windows so dirty you could barely see out of them. Whole hotel was just so run down. I would never stay here again. I suggest pay an extra $100 a night and stay at the Hilton owned hotel next door.

Clean and comfortable

La Quinta by Wyndham St. George

The room and bed was clean and comfortable. It also had vinyl plank floors, which is great when you have a dog. My only complaint is, they had speakers that broadcast music right outside my window until 10PM. I was tired from a long drive and went to bed early and that was very annoying.

Just OK

Hilton San Diego Del Mar

From the outside, the hotel looked really nice. However, the room I was assigned was run down, dated, and smelled of heavily perfumed air freshener. Also, even though this was supposed to be a smoke free room, I smelled a hint of cigarette smoke through the very strong fragrance. I can’t speak for the rest of the hotel rooms and maybe the non-dog friendly rooms are great, but mine was just OK. If I ever stay here again, I will upgrade to the courtyard facing rooms with the balcony, and maybe those will be better.

Beautiful, but room is not so much

Bellagio

The hotel and casino is beautiful. However, the rooms are very plain and ordinary. There is no coffee maker and refrigerator rental is $40 a day. Helpful hint: if you tell him it’s for medication it’s free! They charge you $18 a day for parking. They also charged $150 a night for my dog and all she did was sleep. They didn’t have to do anything for her so it does that makes sense to charge that much. I expected to pay a lot for a five star hotel but I expected to get more than I did for my money.
