Great hidden walk
Gum Grove Nature ParkLots of trees, shade, and things to smell. There are multiple paths you can take, some going uphill, so it feels like a mini hike without having to drive far.
Great location for enrichment
Colorado LagoonGreat walking location as it provides a variety in scenery, from sandy beach to wetland to docks.
Comfortable
Best Western Plus Castle RockHotel has lots of amenities and is very dog friendly. A pet relief area with dog bags and a trash can are provided on the side of the hotel. Rooms are clean and centrally located to shopping and food. Pets are only allowed on the first floor, we had to exchange our business suite for a double queen suite (which is perfectly comfortable, it just doesn’t have a balcony). Lots of room for your dog.
Excellent breakfast
Kneaders Bakery & CafeIf you’re from the west coast, this place is equivalent to a Corner Bakery or Panera Bread, so no complaints. As of right now, there are 7 dog-friendly tables on the outside patio.
Beautiful stroll with the doggo
Santa Barbara Botanic GardensA beautiful walk with the doggo, lots for him to sniff. You can tailor the intensity of the workout to suit your needs, there are a few areas of a slight incline. It's nothing intense, but if you walk the whole thing you'll probably have a relaxed pup.
Great hiking trail
Alabama HillsGreat hiking trail, dogs on leashes are welcome (and abundant). We went in October, and the weather was perfect - low '70's during the day. It gets a bit cold at night (low '40's to high '30's), and the temperature dramatically decreases as soon as the sun starts to set.
