Retired folks who jumped back into dog parenthood last summer. We love to travel and usually want to take our golden retriever along. Our puppy Nash enjoys travel and meeting new people.

Don't take your pup to the Alamo

We walked around the river and up on the street to the Alamo Square where the armed guard chased us away. No Dogs! I stood my ground long enough for 1 picture. Outside dining was fun. No pets on the boats.

Shopping Surprise

We weren't really expecting to be able to take Nash into the stores at the mall but he was welcomed with pats and treats all afternoon. Great to be able to shop without having to do the dog swap thing outside.

Wowzers!

We took the advise here on BringFido and explored the Sky Park. Nash got the VIP treatment and made it across the bridge and back. The glass part in the middle was not his favorite. He seemed to enjoy the chair lift more on the way down and "enjoy" might be a stretch, but he is a good sport and loved all of the attention. This was in November and not at all hot. Probably not a good thing when it is warm.

Perfect Stay

It was just amazing to see people out enjoying the sights again. Happy smiling faces, eager to start the exploration of the Western Migration - The Gateway Arch is such a pretty thing. The park has been redesigned with a more approachable entrance and expansive grass and walkways. You can get to the river however I would not let our dog get in the water. This is a historical building and does have elevators to access the rooms. Our dog is familiar with that process but not all pups are. It has already been mentioned that parking is tight. We managed with our Chevy truck. Never felt unsafe.

Dissapointing Denver

I suppose the good news is once you have hit bottom, there is no where to go but up. Downtown Denver has hopefully bottomed out. Our stay was fine. The hotel is pet friendly for urban dogs.

Quiet Night

Nice stopover as our last leg on a cross country drive with our big white dog. After dark there were deer grazing out back and our big brave dog was a bit nervous. This is an older property and a bit dated but the room was super comfortable and clean and the staff more than friendly. Again, it is so nice to see smiling faces out on the road.

Puppy's Favorite Vacation

We picked Williamsburg based on what I had read about dog friendly places. All true. Nash loved walking the historic streets of town and greeting all the friendly folks. Dogs can ride the shuttle from the visitor's center and around town. Patio dining was just barely getting going again after covid but we found a shady spot with some dog water. Sticks - there were so many good sticks to fetch.
