Dog Friendly Beaches in Rhode Island

The dog-friendly Compass Rose Beach is one of four public shores in the North Kingston, RI area that welcomes Fido. Leashed dogs may accompany their owners onto the sandy beach, where picnic benches are dotted alongside the nearby parking lot.

Walk along the dog-friendly Block Island Heritage Trail with your pup to the stunning Mohegan Bluffs in New Shoreman, RI. Rising approximately 200 feet above the sea and stretching on for nearly three miles, the bluffs will provide you with unforgettable views and photo opportunities. Starting May 1 until September 30, leashed dogs are only allowed on the beach from 5:00 AM to 7:45 AM. The Rhode Island National Wildlife Refuge sections are not pet friendly in order to preserve the local animal populations.

Narragansett Town Beach is a pet-friendly destination in Rhode Island. Dogs are allowed on leash in the off-season from mid-September to mid-May. Dog owners are reminded to clean up any mess left behind to preserve the beach's cleanliness.
