Gaviota State Park
Gaviota State Park in Goleta, CA, permits dogs in their pet-friendly campgrounds and day-use areas only. Fido is not allowed on the beach. Pets must be confined to a vehicle or tent from 10 pm to 6 am and should not be left unattended. Owners whose pets exhibit aggressive behavior or disturb other park visitors may be asked to leave.

Aniso Trail from El Capitan State Beach to Refugio State Beach
The Aniso Trail from El Capitan State Beach to Refugio State Beach is an easy, 5.5 mile hike in Goleta, CA, that will take about 2 hours to complete with Fido. Dogs are not allowed on the beach in this area, but the entire paved stretch between El Capitan and Refugio Beaches is fair game. The path is open to bikers, walkers, and joggers and provides a spectacular view of the ocean. Leash regulations do apply.

The Solvang Trolley, also known as The Honen ("The Hen" in Danish) offers a variety of horse-drawn carriage services appropriate for almost any occasion. Take a quaint, charming way to enjoy the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley that is relaxing. and romantic. Take a private horse-drawn wine-tasting tour in the charming Danish Capital of America. The Solvang Trolley, also known as the Honen, boards passengers regularly outside of the Visitor's Center on Copenhagen St. and Second St. and takes them on a 25 minute tour throughout the Downtown Area of Solvang. Passengers rediscover the architecture and attractions of the town on a replica of an 1800's Danish streetcar. Tour guides tell the history of Solvang, explain the origin and significance of many sights and buildings, and share with visitors folk tales and cultural notes from Denmark. They provide as well an insight on activities in town and give general information about the area. It is pulled by two powerful, and always friendly Belgian Draft horses. Both conveyances welcome most pets, but larger dogs will travel most comfortably on the trolley.

Nojoqui Falls County Park has an easy, 0.6 mile hike that will take about 1.5 hours to complete with Fido. The falls this trail leads to are a beautiful secret not know to many people who aren't from the area. The park itself offers splendid facilities including several large picnic areas, playgrounds, restrooms, grills, parking, and more.

Santa Maria Valley Multi-Purpose Trail
The Santa Maria Valley Multi-Purpose Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Santa Maria! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Santa Maria Valley Multi-Purpose Trail.
