Dog Friendly Hiking Trails in Palmyra, TN

Take a trip on the pet-friendly Clarksville Greenway in Clarksville, TN. This former railroad track has been turned into a paved walking trail. It's wide enough for pedestrians, bikes, strollers and dogs. The pathway is shaded in the summer to make for a cooler walk. Restrooms and doggy water dishes are available at the trailhead. A trash can and benches are located every quarter mile.

Dunbar Cave, located in Clarksville, TN, is a remarkable prehistoric site, not just for Tennessee but for the entire Eastern Woodlands. This 144-acre pet-friendly attraction has been used for thousands of years and is the site of significant prehistoric Mississippian Native American cave art dating to the 14th century. Leashed dogs are welcome in all outdoor areas, but are not permitted in any buildings.

The Betsy Ligon Park & Walking Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors.
