Dog Friendly Hiking Trails in Tazewell, VA

Pinnacle Rock State Park is dog-friendly. The park is known for the 3,100-foot sandstone formation that gives the park its name. Located on U.S. Route 52 near Bramwell in Mercer County, the park includes a wooded area with picnic facilities, hiking trails, and a fishing lake. An overlook from atop Pinnacle Rock is a popular destination and favorite photo spot for park visitors. Your dog is even welcome to climb the steps with you to the scenic overlook atop Pennical Rock.

Leashed dogs are welcome to join you at the pet-friendly Clinch Mountain Wildlife Management Area in Cedar Bluff, VA. Enjoy a variety of hiking trails, camping, fishing and more with your furry friend. Please note that this area is also used for hunting.

The Salt Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors.
